Maggie didn't ditch to go anywhere in particular and she ended up sitting in the carpark of Mc Donalds smoking. She threw her head back and stared at the sky, letting the smoke escape her mouth. She knew that she'd have to face Chase sooner or later, they went to the same school for god sakes but for now she'd rather not.

"Maggie?" She heard her brothers voice ask behind her.

She turned her head, watching Damon walk closer to herr holding a bag of food but just turne her head back around.

"Go away" She spoke coldly towards him.

"I'm really sorry" He admitted "But you can't blame me, wouldn't you be pissed off if you knew somebody was hurting me?"

"Just go away" She couldn't be bothered speaking to him.

But ignoring her obvious coldness Damon still sat on the curb next to her "You know you shouldn't smoke, it's not good"

She laughed bitterly "You know you shouldn't beat people up, it's not good"

He rubbed his hand down his face and sighed "You can't stay angry at me forever you know"

"Yea well just piss off for now okay"

He sighed and stood up "Go back to school at least" He muttered and then walked off.

She dropped her cigarette butt and stamped it into the ground, checking the time on her phone she realized that it was already ten minutes into the last lesson and thought that there is probably no point in returning. So she slowly began walking home, taking her time to stop and look at things in store windows, trying to delay her return home until she usually gets there. She finished her packet of cigarettes and mentally cursed, she has only had that packet for a week but usually makes them last at least three. Now she had to find somebody old enough and willing to purchase some more for her. For now she wouldn't worry though, she was expected home in ten minutes and if she didn't speed up now she might be late. Walking down the street she felt eyes on her and stopped before scanning the surrounding environment. her eyes stoppedd on a person standing across the road giving her a guilty look. Chase. They locked eyes for a moment but then she snapped out of it and Maggie quickly began to continue walking ahead.

"Maggie, wait" She heard his soft voice coming from behind her and her nerves were all over the place. She was not ready, the entire point she skipped class was so she didn't have to face him and now she felt as though fate was having a right old laugh at her.

"Come on" She heard Chase once again, this time sounding more persistent "I think we need to talk"

She stopped and turned around to face him "We have nothing to talk about Chase, all I want you to do is leave me alone okay, thats all I ever wanted and I think you owe me that much"

He knew she was right, after all those years of pointless abuse caused by hatred that had nothing to do with her, he knew that the least he could do was just let her be "Okay" he mumbled nodding "Okay, I'll leave you alone"

Maggie wasn't expecting him to give into her wishes so quickly, she wasn't use to him even speaking to her without saying some nasty remark or hurting her but despite how shocked she was feeling she just nodded and said thanks almost to quietly for him to hear before rushing off down the sidewalk again. Chase continued to stand there for a while, watching as she walked off in a hurry, after what she did for him he had realized how idioticly stupid he was being. This girl, despite the amount of times he had hit her or taken a blow to her pride she still saved him. He wanted to thank her, he wanted to maybe even become friends with her, but thinking about it then, why the fuck would she? Maggie had no reason whatsoever to become friends with that abusive asshole who destroyed her confidence, thats why he accepted her wishes. Because he saw sense.
