Jace's P.O.V.

I caught Zari before she left school to ask her if she wanted to hang out tonight.

----
"Hey Zari wait up?!" I yelled from across the school. She quickly turned around to see where the source of noise was coming from.

"Oh hey!" She smiled in a greeting way.

"Are you available after school to hang out or no? It's fine if you don't want to, I mean.."

"Oh. Yeah sure let me just quickly text my mom."

"Okay." I awkwardly stood on the sidewalk watching Zari text. Her expression was hard to read. I don't know if she's excited to be hanging out with me or if she'd rather go home.

"Where are we going?"

"My place? It's a couple blocks down and we could watch a movie or something if you want."

"Oh sure!"

We walked in complete and utter silence until we reached my house. I unlocked the door with my house keys since my parents weren't home. I lead Zari into my home cinema to watch a movie.

"Woah Jace. Your house is amazing!" Zari exclaimed, tilting her head and taking in everything in my house.

"Thank I guess." I laughed. "You wanna pick a movie while I go pop some popcorn and grab snacks?"

"Yah sure!" I showed Zari where all my DVDs were and headed down to my kitchen. I quietly stood there and popped the popcorn.

*ding*

I got a new text, but the microwave beeped and so I ignored it. I carefully poured the popcorn into a bowl and grabbed the drinks. Then I quickly headed back into the theatre.

"picked a movie yet?"

"Ya. We're watching Frozen!" She exclaimed like a little toddler. It was quite cute. I chuckled at her and we both sat down.

We watched the movie happily, while Zari was singing along to every lyric by heart. It was funny how she memorized this all with pure dedication.

After a while, she got tired of singing and we watched in silence. I quickly glimpsed at her once or twice to see what she was up to.

Zari's head turned to mine . "Can I tell you something?"

"Sure. Anything." I was confused. What would she want to tell me.

She whispered quietly," Jace Lee Norman. I think I'm falling for you."

All my thoughts rushed back to Anna. Was it time to let go? Was it time to move on?

Impulsively, I leaned in to kiss her. And Zari didn't oblige. I quickly pulled away when Anna popped into my thoughts, again.

"I think I'm falling for you too." I lied. I honestly didn't know who I loved anymore. I love Anna for a fact, but she doesn't. I need to get over it.

We both turned our attention to the movie like nothing happened. I immediately remembered I had a text. I slowly took my phone on and turned it on. I unlocked it and checked my texts.

Anna.

Anna had fucking texted me after all this time.

My head was racing. I hoped with every last bit of my that she forgave me.

I was very scared to check the text. I was scared that she was just telling me that she hated me even more than before.

I miss you. Sorry for being such a bitch but I really need you. xx

No. No. No. No. Out of all the times Anna could've forgave me, she chose now? Inside I'm squealing with happiness but at the same time, I'm feeling guilty.

Guilty to leading Zari into something I can't commit to. What have I done?

I just made the same mistake again. For the second time. Anna will never forgive me if she finds out about Zari and I.

"Are you okay?" Zari asked. She looked worried.

"Yeah." I lied and I shut my phone off.

a/n: GUYS! Sorry for the late update. I had this big writers block and I was really busy!

Please check out my new fanfic if you haven't (: it's called ; The Accidental FaceTime.

I'll update as soon as I can, but I'm betting on it being like a week. School is starting and I'm very busy with cheer. It's choreography time and I have 4 hour practices to get our routine. ( I don't do school cheer, I do competitive all star and it's way different than the cheer everyone knows about so I'm fairly busy.)

Thank you all and ILYSM FOR 4K READS.
