Chapter 1

We all know how it feels the first day of school.
Your parents drag you out of bed, you eat the
normal eggs and bacon, then you get dressed
and leave.

This is exactly how it's going for me right now,
only I'm new to this school, and I moved here
just two months ago. I have to say that living
in this little town in Alabama isn't that bad, but
I would much rather be back in New York.

All of my friends are there, and I don't get to
hardly talk to them because of the time
difference.

We moved here because my dad found a better
paying job, I don't really see why we had to
travel all this way just for a new job though.

"Hailey, come on, your gonna be late for
school!" Mom shouted from downstairs.

I grabbed my stuff and ran downstairs.

"Hey Mom and Dad."

" Hey sweetie!" They both said at the same
time.

My older brother Marcus was sitting at the end of the table eating cereal like it was his first meal in weeks.And I say he's my older brother, but not by much.

I'm 16 and he's 17 so there isn't a big difference
between us.

"Hey twerp" he says as he puts his bowl in the sink and reaches for his backpack.

I just ignore him. He always teases me like that.I grab my things and run to the school bus as fast as I can.

Don't want to be late on my first day!
