Chapter 3

The next few classes were very boring,the casual first stay of school stuff. I could here my stomach growling at me throughout the entire period i was in.

Ringggg

"FINALLY!" I yelled out a little too loud because kids started snickering at me.

After about ten minutes, I finally found the large cafeteria. There were massive tables and tons of people running around trying to get in line for food.

I thought I would pass up on lunch today seeing the long line and just decided to go sit down and try to relax if that's even remotely possible.

While I was sitting down at a almost empty table, I heard a loud thud.

The boy from class sat down next to me.

"Hi!" he shouted quite loudly.

"Oh, h-hi" is all I managed to get out.

"I'm Luke, I was in your first period class." He grinned.

I've always been a socially awkward person when it comes to new people, especially boys. When I saw him at the table I thought I was gonna have a mental breakdown.

"Oh yea, you were the one who gave me your seat!" I said happily.

"Yea! What's your name?"

"My w-what?" My eyes widened.

"Your name." He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh yea, sorry sorry.Im Hailey." I stumbled out.

I think I turned as red as a tomato freshly picked from a garden.

"That's a really pretty name." He smiled

"Thanks! Hey, why did you give me your seat in class today?" I stumbled out a little to quick.

"Well.. You came in late and there were no seats left so I let you take mine." He brushed his hands through his gorgeous brown hair.

"Thank you for doing that, I didn't expect you too. If you can't tell I really don't know anybody at this school."

He raised his eyebrow "why is that?"

Before I could tell him the bell rang,signaling that lunch was over.

"It's a long story, I can tell you another time if you would like me to." I smiled.

"I would like that a lot." He said as he waved and walked out of the cafeteria.

I walked out of the cafeteria and tried to find my last few classes. I had butterflies in my stomach from taking to Luke .

"Wow Hailey, your so awkward." I chuckled at myself going into my next class.

The rest of the day went by quickly, I went home around 3:00 and slowly walked through the door.

My brother wasn't home yet, he's probably out at Sonic or something.

"Hailey is that you?" I heard a quiet voice from the kitchen. It was my mom.

"Yea it's me mom." I yelled out to her.

I walked into the kitchen and was taken back by the delicious smell of chicken,mashed potatoes, and an apple pie.

Mom had always been a great cook so I always had amazing meals when I was hungry. I think I can 2 pounds every time I eat.

Yea it's that good.

"How was school today?" She asked curiosity as she made some sweet tea.

"Ok I guess."

"Did you make any friends?" She asked with a question on her face.

"Yea." I lied.

There was an awkward silence between us before I decided I would go back into my room and attempt my homework.

"Well, I have some stuff to do for school, I'll be in my room!" I shouted as I went upstairs.

Later on I heard talking downstairs. I went down and food was on the table. Mom made some amazing dinner again.

I sat down at the table, along with mom,dad, and Marcus.

Overall, dinner was quiet besides the occasional chat asking about friends, school, and other things related to that.

After dinner, I went into my room and went to sleep.
