Chapter 4

Ringggg

I give out a loud moan as I try to silence my stupid alarm clock that I don't even need. I'm a very light sleeper so if a feather fell on me I would become wide awake.

I got out of bed and walk over to my closet to figure out what to wear. I decide on a solid black shirt, jeans, converse, and my black and white varsity jacket that my dad gave to me.

I put on my clothes, then quickly dust on a little makeup, then headed downstairs.

It was quiet when I got downstairs, so I figured that my mom had already gone to work for the day and that my brother had driven to school.

Dad is usually at work most of the time so I didn't expect for him to be home until later tonight when i get back from school.

I grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl on the counter for at least a little breakfast and headed out the door.

My car, that is kinda old cause I had it handed down to me by my grandfather as a early birthday present, is blue that is faded now because of everything that it's been through.

It has a lot of old timey stickers on the back of it that I couldn't peel off without getting the paint off. And when I say a lot.. I mean

A lot

I got into the car and put the keys in.

Click click click. Stop

I tried again a hoped for the best.

Click click click,stop

"Crap" I muttered as I got out of the car.
Looks like I'm walking.

I started my terrible 10 minute walk to school, already getting tired. My car did this to me sometimes but even if I told mom and dad about it, they never did anything to try to help me fix it.

I've gotten pretty used to it now but it normally doesn't happen in the mornings when I'm going to school.

"Maybe I should've eaten a little bit more than an apple this morning ugh." I said out loud to myself as I was walking.

All of a sudden, I heard a truck drive up behind me. It was hard to see who the person was through the dark window, all I could make out was that it was a guy.

They rolled their window down and come to find out, it was luke.

"Hailey?" Luke said with a confused look on his face. "Is that you?"

"Yea" my cheeks flushed red.

"Well what are you doing walking to school!?" He said kind of shocked but seemed to get some humor out of this.

"Oh, right..", I thought about what to say," my car wouldn't start so I'm kinda walking to school today."

"Wow that must suck, do you need a ride?"

Oh gosh, I barely know this guy. All I know is that he was from school and that he saved me from embarrassment in the classroom.

For all I know he could kidnap me! He probably wouldn't.

"That would be great actually, thanks." I said with a small smile as I walked to his truck.

His truck was a deep red color with a shiny finishing to the painting of it. You can tell he probably worked on it to keep it like this a lot.

I walked around to the passenger side door and opened it then got in.

His truck was very nice on the inside. It had leather seats and there was a nice breeze of the air conditioning hitting me as I got adjusted In my seat.

I looked over to Luke. He was messing with the radio station when he finally landed on "Uma Thurman" by Fall Out Boy.

"Wow, I like your taste in music if you listen to this kind of stuff." I said with a smile.

"Oh really?" He said with a smirk. " what did you think that I listed to all the time?"

" I don't know really, I guess pop and that stupid rap music that a lot of the other people listen too." I honestly replied.

Our schools I've been to, kind of cliché. There's the jocks, the cheerleaders, the emo people, the shy, the loud, the normal, and people like me.

I'm sorta a shy person, but when you get to know me, I'm  really annoying and loud.

"Well I'm not like most people." He said with a genuine smile, snapping me out of my thoughts.

We drive silently for a little while. I looked over at him. He was wearing black converse, dark jeans, and a white shirt. Not to mention that the shirt clung to his body on all the right places, showing off some of his muscle. I hate to admit it, but he looked really cute today.

Wait what am I saying?

The drive wasn't that much longer until we got up to the school. There was a silence in the air while we were in the car for the last few minutes.

It's wasn't uncomfortable to me, it was actually kinda nice and relaxing. I haven't had that in a while.

" we're here" Luke mumbled as he pulled in to a parking spot.

He got out of the truck and came around to my door, then opened it for me.

Oh what a gentlemen.

"Thank you so much for the ride, if you hadn't have came, I would be halfway here by now." I told him.

"No problem." He said with a chuckle, running his hands through his perfect hair.

We then started to walk in to the school for my second day.

Oh joy.
