As it turns out, I had good cause to worry. 6 hours after that meeting, I was slumped over my sofa with an ice pack over my head, cursing the moment it had even crossed my mind to even tell Jill I had powers.............
5 Hours earlier.........
"No Jack, I don't have heat vision..... "
" You mean you don't know if you have heat vision!"
Jack was also wayy over excited over my sudden gifting of power, and had spent the last hour grilling me for every little detail about them. I sighed, walked up to Jill's front door, and knocked, hoping that whatever she had in store for me wouldn't be too painful. As I found out, as usual, I was horribly wrong.
2 hours earlier..........
"Ok, that's the heat vison test done, superspeed, and superstrength tests done as well. I feel really good about this!"
"I DON'T!"
When I say I was currently aching in muscles I never even knew I had! Jill was a maniac!
She pushed me in front of a speeding car to test my super strength, the car smashed and I went flying. Through a window.
She set free a bunch of infected dogs from the nearby sanctuary to test my super speed, let's just say I found out I can walk (run) on water if I'm fast enough.
After that I was ready to pummel her and when she saw how vexed I was, she started cooing at me like I was a pet cat!
I saw red.
I literally saw red.
I blasted a hole in the road with a heat vision I can't control.
Jack was in awe.
Jill wasn't finished.
"Right, now we're going to see if you can fly or not!"
I cringed. "And how exactly are you gonna do that? Push me off a bridge?"
And that's how I found myself falling off the tallest bridge in town.............
