Lynn's POV

Have I ever told you how stupid I find contests are? It's just a stupid competition and everyone makes a big deal out of it. Especially when it comes to winners and losers. Winners make a big deal out of the fact that they won and losers have a pity party and get so upset over it. A competition is not going to determine the rest of your life.

Which is why today of all days annoys the living hell out of me. Today of all days is the talent show. I didn't sign up despite Cassie telling me I have a great voice.

"Okay anyone who had signed up for the talent show, go to the auditorium for your last rehearsal." Ms. Valentine said. I watched add a majority of the class left. I rolled my eyes. I ran a hand through my straight brown hair and took my notes.

"Come on class. Let's go to the auditorium." Valentine said, during my second period. I rolled my eyes and stood up. We walked to the auditorium. I took a seat next to Cassie. I stared at the performers. Until one of them actually caught my eye.

"Hello, students. This is song I would like to dedicate to one of our newest students. Lynn Harrison." Tucker starts. I looked over to Cassie. She hid her smile.

I like this right here

He started and smiled at me. I immediately hid my face in my hands.

This girl she came 'round the corner
Looking like a model
Magazine figure
She was shaped like a bottle
Long straight hair
She was fly as a bird

He started dancing around with a grin on his face.

First time ever
I was lost for words
Felt so right
Just couldn't be wrong
Love at first sight
If that exists at all
I couldn't move
Felt like I was stuck
And then baby girl looked up

He started walking towards me.

And I said
Hey there pretty brown eyes
Whatcha doing later tonight?
Would you mind if I spend time with you?
And I said

This girl she was a little hottie
She knows she's got it
Came from the city so she loves to party
The JT song make her move that body
She's dancing all night long
I could tell that she was a wild one
That's why I was shy at first
But I finally worked up the nerve

When he was finally in front of me, he took my hand and walked with me.

And I said
Hey there pretty brown eyes
Whatcha doing later tonight?
Would you mind if I spend time with you?
And I said

Spend a little bit
A little bit of time with you
Spend a little bit
A little bit of time with you
Spend a little bit
A little bit of time with you
Spend a little bit
A little bit of time with you

Hey hey little pretty brown eyes
Don'tcha ever be looking at them other guys
'Cause ain't never had no surfer like me
Start swimming over here and ride my wave
'Cause I see that you party like there's no tomorrow
Let's leave the party
I'll grab my guitar
I got the keys
So jump in my car
Sit back, relax
Australia's kinda far

He winked.

Hey there pretty brown eyes
Whatcha doing later tonight?
Would you mind if I spend time with you?

He spun me around. My face was close to his.

"Lynn, would you be mine?" He asked.

"I don't know." I said.

"What could possibly go wrong?" Uh... My sisters and I are being stalked and I could possibly die in the process.

My phone buzzed twice. I took it out and looked at the texts from Cassie and Maggie.

"Life is about taking risks. Say yes." - Cass.

"Don't let my mess get in the way of your happiness. Go for it." - Mags.

I smile. I look up at him. "Yes."

He smiled and hugged me close. He kissed me despite the protest of teachers. And Cassie and Maggie's screams were the loudest.
