Matilda's pov:
It had been about a month since me and Harry kissed and Hermione is all gushy gushy about it. Harry and I just act cool about it and he constantly reminds me how many months until I turn fourteen and he can go out with me.
Right now we are in professor Trelwaney's classroom and are attempting to read crystal balls.
I read the ball to Ron and it held stuff about Quidditch and all that jazz.
"Do you mind if I give it a try?" Hermione asked.
I shook my head and switched seats with her, "Could be the grim.....possibly." She said smugly.
"My dear, from the moment you stepped foot in this classroom I sensed you did not possess the proper gift of the noble art of divination." She muttered taking Hermione's hand and then said more things about how her heart is as shriveled as an old maid an all and then was confused as of why she had left angry and pushing things off tables.
What a lunatic.
"She's gone mental, Mione has. Well it's not like she hasn't always been mental but now it's out in the open for everyone to see." Ron said as we walked out.
"Well Ron that wasn't exactly a nice thing that the professor said. I would've done the same thing." I pointed out.
"Yeah but your a different story. I would expect you to rage out like that because you let people know when something's not right with you." Harry pointed out an I shrugged.
"Hang on." Harry said picking up the large glass ball.
"We'd better take that back." I stated.
"I'm not going back." Ron said.
"Fine. See you later." Harry said tuning around with me following.
"See you, bye Matilda." Ron waved.
"Bye." I said back as we approached the classroom.
We slowly walked in and I looked all around and realized I left my bag at the desk. How do you forget a bag?
I walked over to the desk and picked up the bag and draped it across my shoulder pulling my hair from under it and I walked back over to where Harry was observing the ball he had just set down when the Professor came out of no where and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Professor Trelawney-"
"He will return tonight." She said, her voice sounding oddly deeper.
"Sorry?" Harry asked.
"He who had betrayed his friends and sought murder shall break free, innocent blood shall be spilt and Servant and Master shall be reunited once moooore." She yelled before beginning to cough and she went back to her original voice looking at our horror struck faces, "Oh, I'm so sorry dear children, did you say something?"
Me and Harry exchanged glances, "No. Nothing." Harry said quickly, grabbing my arm and yanking me out behind him.
"Look. I know this is usually Ron's thing but what the bloody hell was that?" I asked.
"I have no idea and frankly I'm actually quite scared right now." Harry stated tightening his grip on my arm but I grabbed his hand so he wouldn't hurt me and squeezed it.

(Wearing: Black v-neck shirt, skinny jeans, black hoodie, cosmic hightop converses, lazy pony tail)
Later that evening the four of us were walking through the halls on the way to see Hagrid. We wanted to be with him when the deed was done and we wanted to be there for him.
As we walked by the opening we found the executor polishing his ax thing.
We all glared long and hard at him until he was out of sight and we walked outside.
The crows outside were just dreadful and they kept landing on my shoulders much to the others amusement. I just shooed them away and kept walking.
"I can't believe they're going to kill Buckbeak. It's to horrible." Hermione shuddered but clearly more angry than sad.
"It just got worse." Ron pointed out.
"Awe come to see the show?" Draco asked with a smile as his two bafoons laughed with him.
"You-you foul, loathsome, evil, little cockroach!" Hermione hissed pointing her wand against his neck.
"Hermione no! He's not worth it!" Ron yelled to her.
I was feeling quite awful about today and Harry and the others knew. In my mind I was thinking, 'Do it Hermione. Do it. Let's see if his father hears about it this time.'
Hermione glared at him as he whimpered and I walked up behind her as she slowly lowered her wand and turned around and once she did they began laughing triggering something in me I've never felt so strongly.
As quick as I could I spun around and landed a punch straight to Draco's nose. Making him shut up and cry out grabbing it in pain as the others went over an tried to comfort him but right after I landed the push I took off down to Hagrid's hut and my three friends sat below still gaping at what I had done.
I ran down to the Buckbeak I had grown to love and plopped myself onto her neck, crying into her feathers while she sat there, completely oblivious to what is going to happen.
I watched as Hermione, Harry, and Ron walked down the path and I wiped my eyes quickly over and over again.
Just as they approached me I said, "I'm sorry guys. Something must've came over me. That just really needed to be done."
"Whatever it was it was bloody brilliant." Ron gasped.
"I would've done it if you hadn't." Hermione smiled.
"I wouldn't apologize for a soul." Harry agreed and I smiled up at them as they walked inside the hut and I picked up a small pumpkin and passed it to Buckbeak.
She immediately hit it with her beak an I caught it in the air an we repeated the process making it a full out game.
I smiled and passed Buckbeak a ferret once we were finished and I walked back inside.
"That was mighty nice of you, Matilda. Let her have her fun before-" Hagrid began but cleared his throat and I hugged him and tight as I could and he picked me up hugging me back.
"Thank you. I needed that." Hagrid stated as I shook my head and he placed me on my feet.
"Why don't you just set him free?" Harry asked.
"They'll know it was me. Dumbledore would get into trouble. He's coming down you know. He said he wants to be with me when-when it happens. Great man, Dumbledore, great man." He sniffed.
"We'll stay with you too Hagrid." I said determinely.
"You'll do no such thing. I don't want you seeing something like that. No you just keep off but before you do that, Ron," Hagrid reached into a box and pulled out Scabbers making Ron gasp.
"Scabbers! Your alive." He laughed taking his rat and swinging him around.
"You need to keep a closer eye on your pets, Ron." Hagrid told him.
"I think you owe somebody an apology." Hermione stated crossing her arms.
"Next time I see Crookshank's I'll let her know." Ron sneered.
"I meant me!" Hermione yelled but was cut off by a pot of floo powder next to her busting.
She inspected the table and picked up what looked like a snail shell.
"Ow!" Harry yelled rubbing the back of his neck.
Hagrid looked out and saw Professor Dumbledore, the minister, and the executer walking along the trail.
"It's late. It's nearly dark. If anyone sees you outside you'll be in trouble, big trouble, particularly you Harry. I'LL BE WITH YOU IN A MOMENT!" Hagrid yelled to the door which had just been knocked.
We all ran out the backdrops and I turned around to face Hagrid.
"It'll be fine. It'll be okay." I told him quickly as Hagrid kept trying to shoo me out the door.
I felt Harry grab my wrists and we took off behind the pumpkins.
I was placed between him and Hermione and I looked over the pumpkins.
"Look. Nows our chance. We can free Buckbeak." I whispered to them.
"Are you crazy? They'll see us!" Ron whispered back.
"Well I'm got just gonna sit back and let this happen." I stated trying to sneak up from behind the pumpkin but Harry was too quick. He grabbed my waist and held me there while I thrashed about until the coast was clear.
Hermione jerked her head back towards the woods. "What is it?" I asked her.
"I thought I saw-never mind." She said shaking her head.
"Let's go." Ron said shakily and Harry grabbed my hand and ran up the path.
I looked back with tears in my eyes, "I love you, Buckbeak." I cried and she just squawked in response.
We all ran up the path and to the clearing where I had punched Malfoy just minutes ago.
Once we got up to the clearing I stood and watched the executer lift his ax and my breath hitched. I clung onto Harry who did the same to me.
He slowly and painfully brought it down and I heard a 'chop' sound and the crows flew away. I immediately buried my head into Harry's neck and cried and I wrapped my arms around his neck for support and he wrapped his arms around my waist.
I heard Hermione crying to and looked over to see her crying into Ron. I wiped my eyes and started taking heavy breaths.
"Come on, Matilda, breath. Here. Let's count to ten." Harry said holding both my hands.
He knew that in tense times like this it can freak me out and make me have to pull out my inhaler which I never take with me anywhere because I told him it makes me look like a nerd.
I shook my head, "I'm fine." I said turning around so he wouldn't see me crying. I hated for other people to see me cry. It made me feel weak.
"Ouch!" Ron gasped as Hermione pushed back to see what happened, "He bit me. Scabbers."
I was as shocked as him and I watched as Scabbers hurried along the trail.
"Don't worry, I've got him." I assured Ron as I ran after him.
They all looked at each other before following me.
"Here Scabbers! Come here buddy. I won't hurt you." I cooed as he lead me down a trail.
"Matilda. Matilda!" Hermione yelled after me.
"Matilda!" Harry yelled.
"Get Scabbers!!" Ron yelled.
"RON!" Harry and Hermione yelled.
"Wait!" Harry yelled but I never stopped.
That is until I pounced on the rat and wrapped my hands around him.
"Oh you silly rat.. Why would you bite Ron like that huh? Why you wanna bite a piece of trash huh?" I cooed softly petting the rat on the head. I love all creatures no matter appearance and no matter species.
"Hey!" Ron yelled offended.
"Harry look!" Hermione yelled pointing up at the tree, "You do realize what tree this is."
Harry looked up at the womping willow towering above me, "That's not good. MATILDA RUN!"
I looked up from the rat to see a black dog standing behind Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
"Ron, Harry, Hermione! Run!" I yelled back pointing behind them and they turned around to see the mad black dog, "ITS THE GRIM!"
The dog immediately snarled and gnashed his teeth at them before lunging but going strait over their heads.
He ran right for me and I screamed clutching the rat. The dog grabbed me by my leg with his sharp teeth and pulled me towards the tunnel in the tree.
I continued to scream unable to form words from the amount of shock I was in.
Harry lunged for me but he missed by a few inches.
"Matilda!" I heard them all scream as I was dragged into the trunk of the tree and up the stairs to a room where there sat a couch like thing where he lead me and I sat down.
The dog immediately turned into a human and stared into my eyes for many seconds and I did the same back.
I've always been told that my eyes are electric blue and impossible not to stare at but this guy. This was just creepy.
I cringed in pain and looked down at my leg to see a rip in my jeans and a huge chunk of flesh ripped and blood forming a puddle on the floor.
We heard my three friends approaching and he quickly hid behind the door.
"MATILDA!" Harry yelled.
"Harry it's a trap! Get out!" I yelled but of course the door opened and in popped Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
Hermione gasped, "Matilda! Y-your leg!"
"Harry. Behind the door. The dog. He's an animagus." I said to Harry and he looked behind the door.
"If your going to kill Harry then your gonna have to kill us too." Hermione said standing in front of him.
"No. Only one will die tonight." Sirius smirked.
"Yeah and it'll be you!" Harry yelled pushing Hermione into Ron and running forward tackling Sirius to the ground pointing his wand at his throat.
Sirius laughed, "Are you going to kill me, Harry?"
All of a sudden the door burst open and in came professor Lupin shouting "Expelliamus!" Causing Harry's wand to fly from his hand.
Harry slowly stood and Sirius did too.
"Ah Sirius. Looking rather rugged are we? Finally the flesh reflects the madness within." Lupin said circling Sirius.
"You WOULD know all about the madness within, wouldn't you Remus?" Sirius asked an thy stared off at each other for a while before they ran into each other's arms as hugged each other tightly slightly sniffling.
"I-I didn't do it..." He kept repeating to Lupin who over and over again said, 'I understand.'
"Let's kill him." Sirius stuttered.
"No!" Hermione and I yelled at the same time. "I trusted you and all this time, you'd be his friend! He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes." Hermione stated.
Lupin slowly made his way toward us as Harry inched between me and them.
"How long have you known?" He asked.
"Matilda and I have known since Professor Snape assigned the essay." She clarified.
"Matilda?" Sirius asked. I could not see him I could hear the hope in his voice.
"Sirius not ri-" Lupin began.
"Move boy!" Sirius said to Harry.
"No! You won't touch her!" Harry yelled.
"I SAID MOVE!" Sirius yelled and I grabbed Harry's shoulder to help boost myself up.
"No, Matilda." Harry said firmly.
"This is my choice." I told him and I hobbled in front of him.
Sirius looked into my eyes first and then at my face and studied my features before he almost collapsed on the ground almost crying in joy I'm guessing..
"Oh Matilda!" He shouted.
"Sirius I don't think now is a good ti-"
"I have lived the last twelve years of my life, thinking you were dead, Matilda. But here you are." Sirius said making me uncomfortable. What is happening?
"She looks just like her mother." Sirius said bringing his hands to my face and stroking my cheek making me flinch away.
"The next generation must stay clean." He said but before I could think Harry pulled me back behind him making Sirius angry.
"I say we kill him! Come on let's do it together!" Sirius yelled and Lupin grabbed at him.
"Wait!" Lupin yelled.
"I did my waiting! TWELVE YEARS OF IT! IN AZKABAN!" Sirius yelled.
Lupin looked down at the ground and then back up at Harry, "Very well, but wait just one minute. Harry has a reason to know why."
"I know why! You betrayed my parents! Your the reason they're dead!" Harry yelled.
"No Harry. Someone did betray your parents but it was someone who until quite recently I believed to be dead!" Lupin yelled.
"Who was it then?" Harry asked.
"Peter Pettigrew! He's in this room! Right now! Come out come out, Peter!" Sirius yelled throwing his arms in the air. "Come out! Come out and play!"
"EXPELIAMUS." A voice called from the door.
All of a sudden my knee buckled and I fell back onto the couch cringing at the pain in my leg.
"Ah vengeance is sweet. I hoped I'd be the one to catch you." Snape sneered keeping his wand pointed at the now unarmed prisoner.
Hermione knelt down in front of my leg and inspected it and turned to Harry.
"She's losing a lot of blood." She informed him.
I took off my hoodie and gave it to her and she wrapped it on the gash.
"Ah." I cringed slightly as I used Ron to keep me sitting up by his side since he was sitting next to me.
"Sorry." She muttered.
Harry looked at the scene before us with broken eyes an then looked to his wand across the room and then looked to me.
I reached into the waste band of my jeans on the side and pulled out my wand and slowly handed it to him while everyone's attention was on someone else.
"Oh look at you, you're arguing like an old married couple." Snape mocked.
"Why don't you go play with your chemistry set?" Sirius fired back making Snape press his wand deeper into Black's head.
"I could do it, you know. But why not feed you to the dementor's? They're so longing to see you. Do I sense a flicker of fear? A dementor's kiss. There's no telling what that might be like for the both of you. Should be unbearable to witness but I'll do my best." ,Snape said.
"Severus please." Remus begged.
"After you." Snape said stepping aside but keeping his wand at Black's head.
"Expelliamus!" Harry shouted shooting Snape.
"Harry what did you just do?!" Ron asked.
"You attacked a teacher!" Hermione gasped and I just smirked a bit.
"Tell me about Peter Pettigrew!" Harry demanded.
"He was at school with us, we thought he was our friend." Sirius complained.
"No. Pettigrew's dead. You killed him!" Harry accused.
"No he didn't! I thought so too until you mentioned seeing him on the map." Remus argued.
"The map was lying then." Harry stated.
"The map never lies! Pettigrew is alive and he's right there." Sirius said pointing to me.
I sat up and pointed at myself, "Excuse me. There's just one problem with your accusation and that's the fact that I'm the opposite sex." I argued.
"Not you, the rat!" He said motioning to the rat I was holding.
"Scabbers?" Ron asked taking the rat I was petting, "Scabbers has been in my family for-"
"Twelve years! Curiously long life for the common rat! He's missing a toe isn't he?" Black asked.
"What the bloody hell has that got to do with anything?" I asked sitting completely up.
"All they could find of Pettigrew was his-" Harry was cut off by Black yelling,"FINGER! He went and cut it off so then everyone would think he was dead! And then he transformed into a rat!" Sirius yelled.
"Show me." Harry demanded.
Sirius walked over to Ron and handled Scabbers.
"Give it to him Ron." Harry urged.
"What are you trying to do to him? Scabbers! Leave him alone! Get off him! What are you doing? Scabbers!" Ron cried as I held onto him by the shoulder and tried to comfort him by rubbing his back but he still struggled.
Black put Scabbers on the piano and both him and Remus shot at him and he ran into a hole in the wall and jumped in but to our surprise changed back into a human.
"Remus? Sirius! My old friends!" Peter said before once more trying to bound out the door causing the both of them to grab him and yank him back and he hit the piano.
He then walked over to Harry and gasped, "Oh Harry! You look so much like your father! James! We were the best of friends! Oh and you must be Charles' child! You look like your mother!" He cried turning to me on the couch and grabbing my shoulders.
"How dare you speak to Harry and Matilda!" Sirius yelled yanking him back.
"Charles?" I asked turning to Hermione and Ron who shrugged back at me.
"How dare you speak about James to him! How dare you even put thoughts of Charles into her head! She doesn't know him because of YOU!" Sirius yelled as him and Remus cornered him at the piano.
"What's going on?!" I asked frantically turning to face everyone.
I looked down at my leg to see that Hermione had wrapped my black hoodie around it rather tightly but still okay so I stood and watched beside her and Harry as if it would help me hear more of the conversation.
"You sold James, Lily, Charles, AND ANNABELLE to Voldemort didn't you?" Sirius asked.
"I-I didn't mean to!" Peter sobbed. This dude is emotionally unstable or something. But who are Charles and Annabelle?
"It was the dark lord! You have no idea what weapons he possess! What about you Sirius what would you have done?"
"I would have died! I would have died rather than betray my friends and SISTER!" Sirius roared pointing his wand at Peter from across the piano.
"Harry! Would your father have wanted me to be killed? Same for your mother! Mercy! They would show me mercy!" Pettigrew cried but was once again yanked back.
"You should've realized Peter! If Voldemort wouldn't kill you then we would. Together!" They both yelled and aimed their wands.
"NO!" Harry yelled.
"Harry, this man is-" Remus sighed.
"I know what he is. We take him into the castle." Harry state and my eyes raised in shock.
"Oh bless you boy. Bless you!" Peter cried kissing Harry's shoes.
"Get off! I said we take you to the castle. After that the dementor's can have you." Harry said.
Peter began to cry once more.
"Well. I don't mean to ruin the mood or anything but can someone at least chop my leg off or something? Plus I think it's time to leave this bloody shak. It's getting dark out." I said looking out the window.
"Oh Matilda! You look just like your mother you do!" Pettigrew cried getting in front of me and hugging my legs.
"Get off her!" Harry yelled aiming his wand.
"My mother?! You know my mother! Why do you all know my mother? Is she not dead?" I asked them.
"Of course I knew your mother! She was-"
"SHUT UP! DONT YOU DARE FINISH THAT SENTENCE! SHE IS TOO YOUNG!" Sirius yelled pressing his wand into Peters head.
"No! I want to know why everyone knows more about me than I do myself!" I yelled hobbling to in front of Lupin.
"You'll tell me, won't you Professor?" I asked and he looked down.
"I'm afraid that's a story for another time, my dear." He said looking down.
I huffed and slowly hobbled out of the room, everyone following but Lupin and Peter who had some interrogating left to deal with.
"You can't walk on your own." Hermione sighed, "You'll end up hurting your leg more if you do."
"Good." I said not really listening to what she was saying from how mad I was.
"Did you even hear her? The least you can do is hold our shoulders or something." Ron exclaimed.
"I'm perfectly fine and I can handle myself but thank you for your concern." I not even turning around but having to hold onto the walls as I climbed down the steps.
All of a sudden felt myself being lifted and carried bridal style.
"You guys really don't know how to take care of a stubborn Matilda yet? You call yourself her friends." Harry half joked.
He knows that I don't like needing help and deny when it's offered but if given who was I to complain? What's done is done.
"Sorry about the bite." Sirius said walking by.
"No problem. I've had worse." I muttered and saw Harry frowning down at me and I innocently looked away from him and Hermione's sharp gaze.
Once we were out of the shack Harry carefully placed me down on a rock and took my hoodie from my leg and inspected the gash.
"Okay-" Harry began but was cut off by himself staring after Sirius who I knew to be his God father.
"You'd better go Harry." I said and sat up a bit more to observe my leg.
"No, no. Don't worry, it's fine. I'll stay." He said smiling down at me and stroking my cheek.
I leaned into his hand and smiled, without opening my eyes I said, "Really Harry. You need to talk to him. This is nothing I can't handle. You need to talk to him and he needs to talk to you. Just go."
I opened my eyes and he stared into them for a while before finally nodding.
He stood up and followed after his godfather just as Hermione took his place on my left side and Ron sat on my left side.
"That looks pretty painful." Hermione said.
"I can manage but I think we'd better head to the castle in a bit so, you know, I don't die." I smirked.
"Do you really want it chopped off?" Ron asked with amusement on his features.
"Sure. They may HAVE to cut it off. Make sure I have my eyes closed though. I couldn't imagine having to watch it get cut off for myself." I joked looking up at the stars.
"I bet Fred and George know a spell to chop it off." Ron joked.
"Oh please. They can't even use magic to tie their shoes." Hermione scoffed and Ron turned to her. I swear they stared at each other for like two minutes without blinking.
"I was your good friend! Your pet! You wouldn't give me to the dementor's would you?!" Peter asked clinging onto Ron who was startled by his sudden appearance.
"Oh girl. Nice looking girl! You wouldn't-" he was cut off from speaking with Hermione from Remus dragging him a few yards away.
I sat there awkwardly just looking around until a bright light took my attention and I grabbed Hermione's shoulder. She looked at me alarmed as I motioned to the sky.
"HARRY!" Hermione yelled and Harry turned around from talking to Sirius and she pointed to the sky where we all watched, helplessly, as the moon peaked out from behind the mountain of trees. Sirius immediately ran for Remus.
"Remus, my old friend, have you taken your potion tonight?" Sirius asked gripping at Professor Lupin's shoulders.
"You know who you truly are, Remus. This heart! This one is who you truly are!" Sirius yelled as Remus slowly and painfully began to transform.
Harry ran over to us and he helped me up from my position and he held onto me as we hugged each other close.
"Harry. Peter." I told him and he turned to see Peter picking up his wand.
"Expelliamus!" Harry yelled aiming his wand at Peters hand making it shoot away from him.
"Nice shot." I breathed and he smiled, softly kissing the crown of my head making me blush a bit but it was dark and no one saw.
They heard the continuous snarls of pain come from Remus and Sirius tried to calm him down. Until he let out one final howl and he was now, full wolf.
"RUN! RUN!" Sirius yelled to us but we were all too shocked.
After his howls of pain he then began to whimper and stalk back a bit.
"Wait. Wait." Hermione said walking forward.
"Hermione." Ron said worriedly. He muttered more scared thoughts under his breath as we watched her walk closer.
"Professor?" She asked softly as he just whimpered more.
"Professor Lupin?" She asked again but this time he let out an incredible howl and Hermione jumped back and she ran back towards us as Ron welcomed her back with opened arms.
Just then, professor Snape chose it a good time to come out of the shack and march right up to us with an angry gleam in his eyes.
"There you are, Potter." He spat angrily but after hearing the growl he turned around and saw professor Lupin and his eyes widened as he put his arms around us protectively.
The werewolf got on his hind legs and swiped his claws at Snipe only clawing his cloak but Snipe still fell back and Hermione let out a small squeal.
The werewolf stalked towards us still and we all crept back and Harry slowly placed me behind him. Before I even had time to think another black dog jumped on his back growling and barking as they began to fight.
Sirius was getting beat up pretty badly and Harry stood up straight from nerve. "Sirius!" Harry gasped and ran off into the woods after them. I began to follow him but Ron stopped me by grabbing my shoulder and pulling me back.
"We've got to help him." I said.
"We will help him by getting help, but as for you,Miss Watson, your leg needs medical attention and fast or it will get infected." Snape said standing up.
"But what ab-"
"There's no sense in arguing when you know you will not win the debate. Come on." Snape said and to my surprise, he lifted me up and carried me to the castle.
