Math. Mental abuse to humans. These are the words every kid says, and this is the period every kid hates. No person in their right mind would like math class.
Mr. Hister, the teacher was so bent on making math a long, boring subject, that most students sleep during the class. Mr.Hister, which sounds like Mr.Hipster, is no where near a hipster. He wears a vest, slacks, a button down shirt, and proper shoes each and every day. He is so strict, so loud, and basically every students worst nightmare. He always kept a straight face, never smiling, never laughing. Just becoming upset.
I suddenly felt a poke on my left shoulder. I decided to ignore it and continue trying to pay attention in class. I felt the irritating poke once again, and just like before I didn't bother caring.
"Pssssstttt, Winter!" Alex's piercing voice whispered loudly.
"What do you want?" I turned my head to face him, a grimace on my face, my teeth clamped against one another.
"Your homework," He admits, his voice hesitating a little bit.
"Aww, big boy didn't do his math homework? Well too bad!" I fake pout and then crush his spirits.
"Your so mean! I'll do anything!" He pleads, his hands making a praying gesture.
"Ugh, fine! But you owe me," I quickly mutter, as I slid my homework to him.
Mr.Hister was opening the door to enter the room. I watched him with careful eyes, making sure he wouldn't come this way.
"Okay class, I'll be coming around shortly, as soon as I mark the attendance." He announces, the sound of his finger clicking the keyboard easily becoming the most easily recognized sound in the room.
About 2 minutes later, Mr.Hister gets up from his chair and comes to the front of the class. "Please take out your homework, and place it on top of your desk." He states.
"Hurry up!" I sibilate.
"I'm trying. Stall for me!" He whispers, his pen moving across the a piece of paper.
I growl. "Fire! Oh my god! There's a fire in the trash can!" I yell loudly, while frantically pointing at the black can.
"Everyone remain calm!" Mr.Hister raises his voice, he sure looked panicked to me.
The class started shrieking.
"But there's no fire." Reginald, a snooty boy said.
"Winter..." Mr. Hister gave me the stink eye.
"Sorry, I must have seen something else," I make up a sorry excuse, and look down at my desk, my checks were blooming red furiously.
"Thanks, I got it," Alex smiles gratefully as he passes me my homework.
"Ms. Lost, would you clarify for me as to why Mr.Graham is copying your work? It seems like you were letting him copy it." Mr.Hister's voice booms, as he stands behind me looking over Alex and I's shoulder.
"Well..." I began, but was cut off by Mr.Hister.
"Detention. For both of you. Join me after school today." He declares with a sigh.
As soon as he walks away, I turn to Alex again. "This. Is. All. Your. Fault." I enunciate each and every syllable.
"It's actually your fault for letting me copy your homework, you should've said no. Your know better than to listen to me," He argues back playful, with a ghost of a smile on his face.
"Ugh! You are so..." I bark, not finishing my sentence due to not finding the words to describe him.
"I'll see you at lunch, and then we can go to detention together," He says, listing off what he wants to do.
"I hate you!" I cry, my head falling into the desk, my hands catching it.
***"Leave!" I scowled, my teeth gritting against each other.
"No!" Alex, Asher, Ashton, Jace, and Beck chorused as the sat down in their chairs.
"Why not?!" Aspen whined, moving away from Jace.
"Because," Beck answered, while stuffing his pasta into his mouth.
"That's not even a legitimate answer, so get lost!" Piper growls, her chest heaving in and out.
"I am lost, in your beautiful eyes," Asher winks, as he pops a fry in his mouth.
"And I'm lost as to why your still here, leave!" I stomp on Alex's toe.
"Shi-" He starts to curse.
"Sh kabob," Courtney finishes for him.
"What's wrong with your friend," Jace questions, as he comes back from throwing away his food.
"Nothing, what's wrong with you? How do you eat so fast?" Charlotte snaps at him.
"Because I'm a jock, I dunno, my mouth likes to consume my food at miraculous rates," He points out as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.
Piper bites her lip in anger and pulls at the ends of her hair. "Frick'n leave!" She almost shouts, her finger pointing at a table far away from ours.
"No, I think we should stay, don't you think?" Ashton remarks, these boys and their attitudes were driving us to the ends of the earth.
"Fine stay! Just leave us alone!" I reason, my voice coming out calm but it's words dripping with rage.
"Fine!" Alex grunts, his nose scrunching up in fury.
"Okay then," I smile a sweetly sick smile.
"But you do owe me, from math class remember?" I remind him."What do you want?" He pinches the bridge of his nose.
"I want you to leave." I smile innocently at him, and wave to him and his friends a fair goodbye.
"Fine. Come one guys, the cheerleaders are waiting," He winks and waves at the preppy girls with skirts that show their butt and shirts that show their cleavage.
"See us at detention Lost," He walks away, and I could sense that he was smiling.
"Go away!" Aspen yells at him.
"Gladly," Jace pinches her cheek and walks to the other table.
"Detention? Really? What for?" Piper sighs and raises her brow.
"Yes really. Let's just say, I'm not lending my homework to someone again," I breathe, pushing my tray away due to my loss of appetite.
