"haah...ah!!"

"Ah....ah! Kageyama....!" Shoyo moaned.

"Hinata?" a voice asked.

Shoyo looked up at Kageyama, wide-eyed.

Shoyo quickly pulled his shirt down as far as he could, below the waist to cover himself. He blushed intensely at what Kageyama had caught him doing. W-what do I do!?

"Wh-why did you come!?" Shoyo demanded, looking away in embarrassment and shame. "I...was going to change my knee pads. And then I heard...you call my name..." Kageyama said, making a weird face at the last part. Shoyo's entire face burned in red. H-h-he heard me!!!

"Y-you probably...heard wrong..." Shoyo stuttered, covering his face with one of his hands. He peeked over at Kageyama, looking at his confused and surprised expression. Kageyama's eyes directed towards the jacket. Shoyo's eyes widened and he looked up at Kageyama. "I-it's not...what it looks like!" Shoyo cried. His ears started turning red. "I-it was just here!" Shoyo said. Kageyama looked away. "I'm...going back to practice..." Kageyama muttered.

During practice, Kageyama seemed to avoid Shoyo. They were distant and Kageyama seemed to mostly focus on the volleyball. He didn't even yell at Shoyo.

Later, while Shoyo was in class, they called him and Kageyama into the office.

"Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama. You both are in the volleyball team, correct?" the principal asked. They both nodded. "I am concerned about your grades. They haven't gotten any better since the first semester. How long is this going to continue!?" Shoyo flinched at the principal's yelling. "We'll study along with the 2nd and 3rd years. We'll study." Kageyama stated. Hinata stared at the principal as a way of saying he agreed. The principal sighed. "Your grades are your priority right now."

***

"No matter what, volleyball is my priority." Kageyama muttered as they left the principal's office. Shoyo started walking away. He didn't want to talk to Kageyama right now. Especially since he was in a bad mood.

"Where do you think you're going?" Kageyama asked. Shoyo froze.
"I was going...to ask Suga-Senpai..." Shoyo said.
"...We might as well both go." Kageyama said.

"Ah...I'm sorry. I can't. I have some things going on at home." Sugawara apologized.
"How are we going to study then?" Kageyama mumbled.
"Maybe you two should study together. Kageyama, you're pretty smart. I'm sure Hinata is smart...I think." Sugawara laughed.
"Suga!!" Shoyo whined.
"Sorry sorry. I'll be going now. Later." Sugawara said, running off.

"So, now what?" Shoyo asked.

"We study. That's what. Go bring your backpack." Kageyama said, sitting down on the ground of the gym.

Shoyo and Kageyama stayed there, studying. Except, Hinata couldn't concentrate. His heart was racing and his face flushed. He kept looking down so Kageyama wouldn't notice. "The book says...to do this...so then....." Kageyama muttered. He started writing some things on the paper and then crumpled it up angrily. "I don't get this stuff!" Kageyama yelled. Shoyo stood up. "Maybe we can ask someone tomorrow. We can ask Yachi to help us..." Shoyo said, nervously. Kageyama looked up and then nodded. "You weren't even listening." Kageyama said, standing up as well. Shoyo's eyes widened. Why didn't Kageyama yell at him then?

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow then..." Shoyo said, walking away. "Oi!" Kageyama called. Shoyo turned around.

"Do you like me?" Kageyama asked.

Shoyo blushed heavily. "Huh!? Wh-what??? N-no! Of course not!" Shoyo laughed, nervously. Kageyama frowned and took Shoyo from the collar of his shirt. "Don't lie to me! You were jerking off in the locker room, calling out my name. Like a pervert!" Kageyama yelled. Hinata's eyes started to water and slowly, the tears rolled down his cheek.

"Wh-why are you crying!?" Kageyama asked, releasing Shoyo. "I don't know why I feel like this! When...you're always yelling at me! You're always telling me not to do and to do. I don't get it!! And then...sometimes...you're so kind. I hate it when you're kind. Because...then...I can't help but feel the way I do..." Shoyo said, crying. "You don't know why you feel like what!? Do you like me or are you just some sick per-" "DON'T CALL ME A PERVERT! I'm not...I'm not a pervert!!!!!" Shoyo said, frowning, the tears still running down his cheeks.

"I...LIKE YOU, KAGEYAMA!"

Kageyama looked at Shoyo, surprised. He then frowned and then bowed to Shoyo. "I'm sorry! I don't...I don't feel the same way! I'm really...sorry." Kageyama apologized. "Don't...don't do that. I didn't want to hear it...!" Hinata cried.

Those were the words Hinata didn't want to hear. Even so, he knew that if he confessed, that's what Kageyama would say, but to hear it in person instead of just imagining that horrible thing happen to him was even worse. Every time Hinata thought of the many ways he could tell or show Kageyama that he liked him, Shoyo always had the same outcome.

He wanted to yell at Kageyama, but he didn't have anything to say. There was no reason why Shoyo should argue with Kageyama. Kageyama's feelings were his own and Shoyo couldn't do anything to change them. He had to accept it and also understand Kageyama's feelings.

"I...I'll do my best...to fall...out of love with you, Kageyama!" Shoyo said, trying to sound confident. "S-so don't worry about it! Just pretend nothing happened! Be-besides. You're..like a crush and stuff! So, I'll eventually find someone else...I can like. Or...even better! I'll be able to concentrate on volleyball! Th-this is good, right!" Shoyo said. Kageyama looked at Hinata confused. "So, that means...you don't really like me?" he asked. Shoyo was surprised. "I do like......I-I mean..yeah! So you don't have to worry anymore!" Kageyama's expression turned into a relieved one. "You got me all worried there! You shouldn't play with those things!" Kageyama yelled. "Y-yeah. Sorry." Shoyo said.

***

"I'll see you tomorrow at practice, Kageyama!" Shoyo said, happily.

"Yeah. Later." Kageyama said, walking off.

Shoyo's eyes teared up again and he began crying.

"Kageyama, you idiot..."
