The Yale alumni walked out of an Indian restaurant, laughing hysterically. Rory was trying to catch her breath and say something else but she was repeatedly overcome with giggles. Her face was red from the cold air and she could see her breath as she laughed, "But- do you- remember- the time-." Rory Gilmore found herself laughing so hard she couldn't speak, she hadn't been this happy in a long time. Sure, she was content with her life. She was happy when she got her job at the paper, she was happy whenever her mom called, and she was generally happy with the other people in her life but she couldn't remember the last time she laughed so hard her sides hurt.

"Ace? What am I supposed to be remembering?" Logan said as he also laughed.

Rory finally recomposed and grinned, "Remember the time Colin and Finn decided they wanted souvenirs from Yale? So they tried to steal their favorite barstool from the pub?"

Logan burst out laughing, "Colin was driving in circles in the parking lot!"

"God he was the worst get away car"

Logan flashed a sneaky smile, "Now do you remember how scared you were?" he teased.

"Hey! I had already gotten in trouble for the boat incident! My theft days were over!" She blushed, she was still somewhat embarrassed about that one wild semester.

"Well you were the cutest thief I've ever seen" Logan said with a wink.

"I guess I was an asset to the field, I think the other thieves were proud to have me" Rory joked.

Logan and Rory were soon at Rory's front door, "I'm so excited to have real furniture!"

She stuck her key in the door and smiled at her newly furnished apartment. In the kitchen to her left, there was an actual dining table, "Well here is the end of me sitting on the floor eating takeout."

Logan chuckled, "well I have no doubt that you'll still be eating plenty of takeout, you'll just be more civilized about it now." He looked around, "Ace, no offense but how are you affording this apartment on a journalist's salary?"

Rory shrugged and continued to inspect her apartment, "I left Yale debt free and then lived either on a campaign trail or in Star's Hollow. Plus, Emily Gilmore was with me when I went apartment hunting. I think she scared the landlord into giving me a better deal." Logan followed Rory as she walked into the spare bedroom/office.

"Oh the notorious wrath of Emily Gilmore-"

"Books!" Rory squealed.

Logan smiled sneakily, causing Rory to tilt her head to the side like a confused puppy. "Are you the nice nice man that brought my books here?"

He nodded, "Earlier today you said your books were still in Star's Hollow. So, while you harassed the guys at the furniture warehouse, I made some calls and had them brought up here."

Rory grinned like a little kid on Christmas morning, "Oh thank you Logan!" she then proceeded to hug him tightly. Logan was initially surprised but then eased into the hug. Once again, things just felt comfortable again. Nothing was awkward, it was like they had just paused their relationship.

The furniture in the spare bedroom was clearly picked out with Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in mind. To the left of the door, there was a desk with Rory's laptop and other work necessities. Even further left, there was a small nook with a bed for Lorelai to sleep in during her visits. Bookshelves completely covered the three walls that surrounded the bed, making a cozy reading spot for Rory. Logan wasn't too surprised when Rory immediately picked out a book and sat down in the reading nook.

"Ouch. I didn't know I was that easy to ignore Ace" he said sarcastically.

Rory looked up with a concerned look on her face, "Oh! I'm not ignoring you!" she patted the empty space next to her on the bed, "pick a book!" Logan sat down next to her and leaned against a bookshelf while scanning the bookshelf in front of him. "Now I knew you liked romance, but Sexus seems like a far cry from Pride and Prejudice.

She blushed, "I needed... inspiration one day"

"For what?"

Rory tried to avoid eye contact with Logan. He sighed and smiled, "Ace, I'm not judging you"

She turned her head and laughed, "Remember when you went to England and I sent you... those provocative texts?"

Logan smiled and nodded. At this point their eyes were locked. "Well I needed inspiration!"

"Please tell me you didn't base your whole sex life off of books you've read."

She giggled, "no! It was different when we were so far away from each other." Their faces were no more than 4 inches apart. Rory continued, "but... when we are- I mean when we were in person, actually looking at each other, I never needed inspiration. It felt... it feels..."

Logan cupped her face with his hand and finished her sentence, "natural?"

She nodded slowly. Their noses were nearly touching. Rory was surrounded by her most prized possessions, her books, but all she could focus on in that moment was Logan's familiar face. He slowly brought her face even closer and kissed her slowly. Rory had a million thoughts flying through her head in that moment. She couldn't process what was really happening. I spent years trying to get over Logan just for me to fall for him when my career is taking off? Wow I really missed him, I can't wait to tell Lane... Oh my god. I haven't told mom..." At the same time, Logan and Rory were passionately kissing. Once they eventually stopped, they slowly moved their faces apart.

Logan watched as Rory's bright blue eyes widened. "Wow. I didn't expect this to happen when I went to the diner last night."
