Rory willed herself to pull away from Logan's face, "I..."
"What's wrong Ace?" Logan said softly.
"Is this a good idea? I mean, we broke up for a reason Logan."
He had a sad look in his eyes, "So I'm guessing you didn't enjoy that kiss as much as I did."
"No! I did" Rory nearly shouted.
She blushed, "You didn't want to be with me anymore because I wasn't ready to marry you. My career has moved forward more with the job at the Times... and I'm closer to the marriage part of my life but I'm not there yet."
He put his hand on her shoulder. "Ace, back then I thought I knew everything. I thought I was going to go out to California and settle down and start a new life there. But now things are different. After being without you for so long, I realized how special our relationship was. At the time I just thought that it felt different because you were the first girl I took seriously."
Logan looked into Rory's big doe eyes, "Ace, I'm willing to wait for you this time. We can take it slow if you want- but life without you is something that I don't want to experience again."
Rory felt her heart sink a little. She bit her lip as her eyes grazed over the face of the man she loved at Yale. "Logan- I'm confused. Well not confused... This was all so sudden and I never thought I was gonna see you again because you went off to the land of vegans and beaches and I haven't even called my mother and now I'm rambling and-"
Logan cut her off, "Ace. Take your time, you don't have to decide this tonight. Like I said, I am willing to wait and win you over. We can go as slow as you want Rory."
She pondered her options, "Okay, but can you still stay the night?"
Logan smiled as he looked into her big blue eyes, "Of course Ace." He kissed her head and gave her a hug.
Logan quickly changed the subject "Ace! We haven't even checked out the rest of the apartment!" He grabbed her hand, pulled her up from her spot in the reading nook, and led her into her newly furnished bedroom.
Logan led Rory into her bedroom which now had an actual bed.
"Look Ace! No more sleeping on the floor!"
Rory giggled, "Aw I was starting to like sleeping on the floor, I think it helped me feel more grounded!"
"Ace. How grounded can you really be when you live in a 17th floor apartment?"
She laughed as Logan grabbed her hand and walked towards the sliding glass door which opened up to Rory's balcony. Rory leaned over the railing and looked down at the vibrant city below her.
Noticing Rory as she shivered, Logan wrapped his arms around her from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder. He inhaled and allowed the familiar sent of her hair fill his lungs. For the first time in years, everything felt light and bubbly inside. When he was with Rory in college, he never truly took the time to appreciate how he made her feel. Instead, he had allowed himself to think that any relationship would make him feel similarly... but boy was he wrong.
"...Logan?"
Logan was quickly brought back to reality, "Yeah Ace?"
"I was saying I like to look down at all the people walking down the sidewalk or people in their apartments"
Logan raised his eyebrows, "Rory Gilmore, are you a peeping tom?"
"Logan! I do not peep!"
He smirked, "I don't know Ace, sounds like your new hobby consists of watching people through their bedroom windows."
She rolled her eyes at Logan, "You know what I mean, every one of those people has his or her own story." Rory pointed down to a man hailing a cab, "He could be having the best day of his life so far!"
She smiled as she looked down below, "Think about it. You can talk to any one person and you can almost can guarantee that they will have at least one remarkable story to tell you. Now I look down at these hundreds of people, I wonder where they are going or what they have to say. That's what I want to do as a reporter! Find out these incredible stories that people have..."
Rory blushed as she realized that she was opening up to a Logan in a way that she rarely did with others. Once again, she felt as if she was falling back in love with Logan Huntzberger.
"Hey Ace! Let's watch a movie!"
***
Logan and Rory sat on the couch. They had decided on watching Pulp Fiction. Logan turned to Rory and smirked, "Do you remember when I dressed up as Butch Coolidge at Finn's Tarantino themed party?"
"Yup. And I remember you getting jealous that I went to that party with Robert" she teased.
Logan covered his face in embarrassment, "oh god I forgot about that."
Rory giggled, "now hush. No talking during movies! That's a Gilmore rule!"

An hour later, Rory was fast asleep with her head in Logan's lap.
He rubbed her back and whispered in her ear, "Hey Ace?"
"Mmm?" Rory mumbled, half asleep.
"As comfortable as this new couch is, I think your brand new bed will be even more comfortable."
Rory groaned. "Tired."
He laughed, "Okay Ace, I'll carry you, okay?"
She nodded, and with that Logan slowly picked Rory up into his arms and carried her into her room.
Logan set Rory down onto her large new bed and began to tuck her in. Rory rolled over and mumbled "Stay."
"You sure about that?"
She nodded.
Logan smiled, took off his shirt, and snuggled into bed with Rory.
