It had been two days since the incident at the club, and all weekend I had been laid in bed, eating ice cream and spitting out all of my feelings to Natalie who slept over. She had just gone home this morning after Bella came running into my bedroom asking me to do something with her today. Agreeing, Natalie gathered all of her belongings and left.
So now I stood in the bathroom, combing through my long brown hair that was in a pony tail, finishing off getting ready. I had on a white sweater type dress that stopped just above my knees. I had on knee high white socks with white heels covering my feet. My makeup was finished to perfection and I smiled as I shut off the light, walking out of the bathroom.
"So, I was thinking maybe we can go look for jobs? I know we have money and stuff, but I feel like it would be good to fend for ourselves." Bella said as I shut the bathroom door. She sat down on my bed, tucking her phone into her back pocket as she stood up.
"Sounds good. I really love how you're like...growing up." I said, grabbing my phone and tucking it into my little purse.
"I mean," She said, flicking her hair over her shoulder. "I am. I'm getting wiser, and hotter."
"Oh shut up." I laughed. "If you're so grown you can drive."
"Deal." She said, laughing as we both walked out of my bedroom and all the way into the kitchen where both my parents sat, talking over plates of salad.
My father has returned home the day after the club. He apparently had a month off of work, surprisingly, and he plans on staying home for that time. I was happy that I wasn't hung over the next day or else I probably would have thrown up on my dad too.
Talk about disgusting. I could barely even get over the fact that I vomited all over some random dude.
Both my sister and I were surprised when we had gotten back from going out to lunch with our mother. Our dad was just sitting in his office, the oak doors wide open with some type of spanish music playing loudly through the house. In a way it was kind of comforting to hear. My father loved spanish music even though he didn't know anything they were saying. I hadn't heard it play in so long.
"Good morning girls." My mom said, lifting her head from her plate of salad and smiling at us both.
"Morning." Bella and I said at the same time.
"Salad in the morning?" Bella asked, walking over to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water before kicking the door shut with her foot.
"It's healthy. Made with lots of fruit slices too." My dad said, smiling at Bella.
"You would know what healthy eating is, right?" Bella said, pursing her lips out after she finished sipping her water. More like tea, hmm.
My eyes widened at Bella's response and I looked over at my father as his smile faltered. A sort of tension filled the room because we all knew exactly why Bella said that. I don't blame her though, dad should have never sent her away in the first place.
"So," My mother coughed, trying to break the tension. "You both look lovely, where are you heading?"
"We're gonna go job searching." I smiled, clasping my hands together and nodding my head.
"Why do that?" My dad asked, furrowing his eyebrows after he wiped his mouth with a napkin. "We have enough money to last both you girls a life time. There's no need to get your hands dirty."
"Yeah well, we're gonna learn to fend for ourselves. Not everyone needs your help, father." Bella said, rolling her eyes.
"Well, we better get going." I said, not being able to take much more of this silent arguing.
