Years passed quietly after that.
Not perfectly.
But lovingly.
Seokjin kept his promise.
Yoongi kept his too.
They learned each other again after grief.
Learned how to speak before things became too heavy. Learned how to ask for help instead of suffering silently. Learned that love was not only protecting someone but allowing yourself to be protected too.
And slowly, their home became warm again.
Alive again.
—
"Hyung, can you buy milk on your way home?"
"Already did."
"Oh... then tissues?"
"Bought."
"...banana milk?"
"For Jungkook or you?"
"Both."
Seokjin laughed softly through the phone.
"See? You're disturbing me now."
"You said you wanted it."
"I still do."
And he truly meant it.
Because every small text from Yoongi during work made Seokjin feel relieved instead of burdened.
It meant:
Yoongi was relying on him.
And Yoongi did.
More openly now.
If he was tired, he said it.
If he missed Seokjin, he said it.
If he needed comfort, he asked.
Meanwhile Seokjin also learned to come home on time more often.
Movie nights became routine.
Weekend grocery dates.
Beach trips.
Late night ramen.
Jungkook squeezed between them during sleep whenever he had nightmares even though he was already getting bigger.
And honestly?
Neither parent minded.
Because Jungkook grew up beautifully.
A sweet child.
Affectionate.
Polite.
Bright.
The type of child strangers adored instantly.
He listened well.
Helped Yoongi cook.
Prepared water for Seokjin after work without being asked.
Always saying:
"Thank you."
"Love you."
"Be careful."
Their home healed around him.
Around all three of them.
—
Until recently.
Something changed.
At first, it was small.
Jungkook becoming quieter.
Locking himself in his room more.
