Chapter Five: up and awake

Carter POV

"Listen Axel, Hayden is my mate and I will be with him weather you like it or not!" I tell him.

"Carter, I don't think you should." Axel growls.

"Okay, let me put it this way; I will leave today with Hayden if you don't condone this but if you stop with the whole 'Hayden isn't right for you' I'll stay for a little while longer." I state.

"Carter, you don't want to do that." He sighs.

"You're right I don't but I know that there is a reason the moon goddess paired me with Hayden and the mate pull is stronger than ever. You can't keep me away from Hayden or I could and probably will die!" I shout at him.

"But Carter," Before he can continue I turn my head so I'm not looking at him.

"Say it and I will say goodbye." I whisper just loud enough for him to hear.

I listen to him whimper and walk out of the hospital room.

I face the door again to see that the doctor is standing right in the door way.

"So, when can I go home?" I ask.

"Well actually, you can go home as soon as you want to. Everything is fine. You passed out from stress and the minor bump on the head. The swelling went down and as you know, you are awake so everything's all fine." He explains.

I nod my head and the doctor unhooks me from all the machines.

"Okay, thanks." I say.

"Carter I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you. I failed as a mate." Hayden says as he approaches my bed.

"You did nothing wrong Hayden. My brothers just being an asswipe and think he can tell me what to do." I tell him.

"But I'm your mate Carter I should have been able to protect you from him and instead you protected me. I'm an alpha for crying out loud I need to protect you and Max was so mad at me for letting you get hurt."

"Max?" I ask curiously.

"He's my wolf. Hopefully someday you'll get to meet him." Hayden smiles.

I hear someone clear their throat and I look around my mate to see my mother and father.

"Carter, I'm so happy you found your mate honey. But know, you still live under my roof so you still have to go by my rules. If Hayden ever comes over you're in the living room or your room with the door open. Understood?" My dad tells me.

"Understood Alpha." I smile.

Mom and dad walk out of the hospital room leaving me alone with Hayden.

"You're beautiful." He smiles.

I feel the heat or blood rushing to my face and I know I'm blushing.

"Thank you." I smile back.

I really want to get out of this hospital and I really want to go home. I feel the mate pull and it's strong. I mean really strong. Normally the pull should be dull or somewhere around there at the beginning but it's super strong.

I get up out of the bed and notice that I'm still in my normal clothes. I walk over to Hayden and he has a smile plastered across his face.

"What?" I ask with a little laugh.

"I'm so amazed at how strong and beautiful my little mate is."

"Awe that's so sweet."

Hayden is really sweet. I can't wait to get to know him more. I honestly wonder why my brother doesn't like him...

I know it's been like six months but I'm back and ready to attack. I know it's short but it's a start.
