A/N: so this is a new story I've been working on. It won't be too long, it'll be about 20 chapters long, I'll probably be updating this every Thursday. I've written a few chapters already, and the plotting is pretty much finished. This is the first story I've written in a long time where writers block haven't interrupted me yet. Sorry for the grammatical errors! This was all written on my ipad. Please give this story a chance :0)

Chapter 1: London Calling

I stepped out of Heathrow airport, my heart racing. My excitement was barely controllable as I looked for Noah's familiar face.

Noah is my older brother, he was about 13 years my senior. When I was young I was separated from him when my biological mother came and took me away from him and my dad.

Oh I'm probably being rude. My name is Mary Jane Garcia, born in London, and shipped to Australia at the tender age of 5.

Every memory I had of my Dad was burned and buried by my sometimes basket case mother. Don't get me wrong, but that's a huge chunk of my life missing, and I was on a mission to take it all back now that I am turning 21.

Sadly enough my dad passed away a few years back. You would think that I'd give up considering everything I ever heard about him growing up was horrible. But sometimes the truth comes out and it's not what you are expecting.

So now I'm here, in London. Thousands of miles away from the familiarity of my small apartment, the craziness of my best friend Meg, and the comfort of my family.

And this was all because I finally decided that it was time I let go, and finally do my best to get to know dad despite him being dead; through my half brother.

I looked around for someone who basically looked like me. The same brown eyes, the same cleft between the chin.

People rushed about passed me, some were saying their goodbyes, and others were saying hello, and I was one of the ones trying to make a good impression.

"Mary Jane!!" I heard a deep voice yell to my left. I swung around and there he was. Good old Noah. I had spoken to him on the phone countless of times, but nothing prepared me to real life.

He was very tall, and muscular which he probably got from my father, seeing I was a short ass. I gave him a goofy smile and dragged my wheelie bag towards him.

I was getting heart palpitations as I got closer and closer to him. I had always wanted to have a brother when I was growing up, but I got stuck with sisters instead. Don't get me wrong, I love my sisters to bits, they were incredible, but the lack of male influence in my life made me kind of awkward through out high school. I just didn't know how to react around boys.

I can safely say that I was definitely over that.

His face lit up as I embraced him. And I don't know, it just felt right. It's true what they say, that bloody is thicker than water.

Noah ruffled my hair, an action I hated other people doing, but when he did it, it felt alright.

"How was the flight kiddo?" he asked, taking the luggage from me and leading us to the long stretch of walkway to the car park.

"It was good, I didn't sleep a wink" I said, smiling brightly at him. We stopped at the lifts and he pressed the up button.

"I can't believe your really here" he said as we stepped in to the elevator.
