Chapter 5

Saving Niall

I waited patiently for the seven frappe I ordered while glancing at my watch. I watched as more and more people piled inside the small coffee shop across the studio.

I knew that the boys we're about to take their break in about 10 minutes, so I was anxiously waiting for my order. Liam doesn't know that I was coming in for a visit. It has been about a month since I've been in London, and I was getting use to the swing of things.

On his days off Liam would always take me somewhere fun like an amusement park, or even just hang out with the boys, but these days he's been exceptionally busy.

Ever since the paparazzi got word about Liam and my relationship, it's been that much harder to keep a low profile. I sighed as I fiddled with my key chain. I was starting to feel really uncomfortable ever since I unnoticed a bunch of girls staring and pointing at me.

I still haven't come across any directioners at all, but from what I've heard about them, they were very territorial when it came down to the boys. Sometimes ruthless when their relationships go sour.

One of the girls finally approached me and tapped me on my back. I turned around and found myself staring at a blonde girl who was probably about two years younger than me.

"Hi, are you Mary Jane, Liam's new girlfriend?" She asked, looking kind of shy. I smiled at her and absorbed in her nervousness.

The thing is, I really didn't know how to answer that. Liam hasn't exactly made it quiet clear. I've wanted to have the talk a few times, but I never found the perfect time to bring it up in a conversation.

"Yeah I'm Mary Jane, but no I'm not his girlfriend, we're just friends" I said politely. "What's your name?" I asked the girl, she looked quiet surprised that I asked her that.

"Oh, it's Jenny" she said, blushing a bit.

"It's nice to meet you Jenny, are they your friends?" I asked, pointing at the other girls, and she nodded. I waved at the other girls, and they all smiled back and waved.

"Can I please have your autograph?" She said, quite embarrassed. I just smiled at her and nodded. She gave me a piece of paper and a pen and I signed it 'with love, Mary Jane'. I gave the paper back to her and she gave me a grateful smile.

"MJ!" the barista yelled out my name. I turned to Jenny and gave her an apologetic smile.

"I'm really sorry, but I have to dash. Have a great day" I said as I grabbed my order.

"Thanks so much MJ!" she said. I rushed out of the coffee shop and right across the street. I entered the building and went straight for the elevator, going on the the level where the boys we're doing their workshop.

"Hey Stacey!" I said, smiling at the reception lady. She gave me a surprised look and smiled back at me. I remembered the first time I came to the studio. It was after my second date with Liam. We just stopped by there to say hi to a few people, and so Liam could get these present someone had left for him.

I smiled at the memory of how he held my hand as we we're walking out of the car, and a paparazzi ambushed us. He just grabbed my hand tighter and we both bolted, with the paparazzi puffing after us so he could get a picture.

He had snapped one of us stopping in front of the car, and Liam leaning in and kissing me on the cheek as he was shutting the door after I slipped in.

The next day, it made the front cover of the sun.

I rushed down the hallway, turned left and stopped right in front of a red door. I looked through the window and saw the boys hitting each other with cushions. I knocked, and Harry opened the door. The grateful look that crossed his face when he saw the coffees was priceless.
