Chapter 3
Call me...maybe?
I could feel body heat emanating next to me, which made me stir from my deep slumber. I shifted slightly and sighed when I smelt the lovely cologne lingering close to my nose.
The sound of gears turning made me groan slightly, and I woke with a start. Instantly regretting opening my eyes, I covered them when the sunlight violated my sight.
Right beside me I heard a gentle snore and I smiled. Liam was sleeping peacefully next to me, his beanie slightly lopsided, his lips slightly open. I stared at him for a few minutes, wondering what he could be dreaming about.
I looked around and found that we we're moving. I gently nudged him and he woke up looking confused. Then his golden brown gaze fell on me and I gave him a small smile, which he returned sweetly.
"We're moving" was all I said, and he shifted suddenly, getting up on his feet. He held his hand out to me, and I took it gratefully. I looked out, dawn left remnants of gold and purple in the horizon which took my breath away.
"Wow, I can't believe it took them this long to fix it" he said, sounding tired. I tried to get rid of the kink on my neck, but I couldn't shake it, so I just stretched my arms out.
"Holy crap, my back is sore" I moaned, clearing my dry throat. I was extremely dehydrated, and absolutely starving for some bacon and eggs.
"Hmmm bacon"
I heard Liam let out a small laugh and I blushed profusely.
"Did I say that out loud?" I said, embarrassed. He nodded and just gave me a smile. The cabin was almost at the bottom and I could see some people gathered at the bottom and one of them was the familiar figure of Noah.
I pressed my face against the window and waved at him. He perked up and quickly ran right through a bunch of people, flashing them some sort of ID.
The cabin came to a stop and finally the door opened letting in a fresh gust of wind.
"Mary Jane!" Noah exclaimed and ran right up to me.
"Bro!!!" I screamed, jumping in his arms.
"I was worried sick when you didn't turn up! I was looking everywhere for you until I finally came back here and asked the guards and found out that the Ferris wheel broke down! Who's that?" He said in a rush, looking over my shoulder.
I smiled and dragged him towards Liam.
"Noah, this is Liam. Liam this is my brother Noah" I said, introducing them. They shook hands like men do, and I don't know man, I kind of liked the picture.
"Liam kept me company and kept me calm. Thank you" I said, whispering the last part. He smiled at me and just shook his head.
Noah looked to me and wrapped his arms around me. "Let's go? You must be starving, you haven't eaten anything since the plane yesterday" then he looked to Liam and smiled, "You can join us if you like" he said.
In my mind I was hoping he would say yes, but he just shook his head, smiling politely. "I can't sorry, my friends are probably worried sick about me, I have to go home" he said apologetically. I felt a sting as he said those words. I took a deep breath and gave him a sad wave.
Noah and I turned to go, but I stopped. "Do you have a pen?" I asked my brother expectantly.
He handed me a ball point pen, and I ran back to Liam. He looked at me in surprise when I grabbed his palm. I wrote down Noah's home number which I memorised by heart and scribbled it on his hands.
