"Phil, I have something important I need to tell you." I told him standing in his doorway. He nodded and led me to the couch.
"What's up Kolby? Is something wrong?" He asked. I pulled my knees up and rested my chin on them before answering.
"There's something I never told you, and well actually there's two things I guess but they go together..." He nodded so I continued, "well a few months ago when I told Dan I was taking the treatment, I might have lied." He frowned and stood up running a hand through his hair.
"You're kidding right? You just- you-but why! I- just." He stuttered. My eyes started watering.
"But I realized that it was a mistake because I-" He cut me off. Dan was listening now to from the kitchen.
"You what Kolby? What could influence you to make that decision!" He was pissed.
"Because I love you Phil! I love you with all of my heart and I know that now! Because I'm going to start treatment so that I won't have to say goodbye." I finished, I was in full on tears at this point.
"Kolby, I have a girlfriend."
