I woke up looking at Dan, Phil, and Patrick's faces. Phil's bright blue eyes looked into mine and I remembered what happened. My heart rate sped up and I bolted up. They all took a step back as I tore at the tubes in my skin. I thrashed under the sheets and slipped out of the bed. I made a run for the door but felt a sharp pain in my side. I grunted as I slid down to the floor and held my side.
Phil and Patrick rushed to my side as Dan called for a nurse. I pushed them away and put my head in my hands. My hospital gown had red start to ooze from it. I looked at the bandage wrapped around my stomach was stained red. I remembered the gun shot and held my side.
"It hurts! Make it stop bleeding!" I screamed. Phil looked sad as he moved out of the way for the nurse to help me.
I blacked out again and didn't wake up for another two days.
When I woke up again Phil was the only one in the room but there was a girl with him.
"Kolby, you're awake. I wanted to introduce you to my girlfriend. Her name is Claire." She smiled and stepped up to the side of the bed.
"I really wanted to meet you. Phil has said so much about you!" She said cheerily. I scowled at her.
"Nice too meet you as well." I grumbled, shifting uncomfortably under my sheets. "Sorry for my freak out the other day Phil." I apologized looking at the door.
"it's ok, I'm just glad you're ok." He told me wrapping his arm around Claire.
"When can I leave?" I asked sitting up. He looked at a sheet on a clipboard.
"Tomorrow." Claire kissed him and I got angry. Phil knows I love him I mean I practically screamed it at him. I frowned.
"Get out." I mumbled. He looked at me shocked. "Please leave." I said again louder this time. He looked hurt but he grabbed Claire's hand and led her out. I sat boiling and thinking tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.
