The wedding day

Princess chamber....

As prisha entered the chamber the chamber was empty as no princess nor the maids not jhanvi who was supposed to get ready by now..

Prisha: jhanvi..putri.

Suddenly, the bathroom door creaked open. Janvi stepped out, wearing her heavy, exquisite bridal gown. Her long hair was tied up in a wet cloth, droplets of water still clinging to her neck. She had literally just stepped out of the shower.

Prisha: Janvi! (Prisha gasped, her hands flying to her cheeks.) By the gods, look at you! Why aren't you ready? And where are your sisters? Why is no one here to help you?

Janvi: (Smiling calmly, trying to ease her mother's panic) Breathe, Ma. I told them to go and get ready in their own rooms so we wouldn't crowd this place. Don't worry..

Prisha shook her head, gently pulling Janvi made her sit in front of the mirror and took a dry cloth, beginning to gently dry Janvi's long, wet hair.

Prisha: Under control? Janvi, the Kuru family travels fast. Your father is already at the gates!

Before Janvi could reply, the heavy curtains of the chamber parted. Queen Drutika, the first queen of Drupad, walked in carrying a silver plate filled with traditional sweets and food. Her face carried the same panicked yet loving expression.

Drutika: Still not ready? (She sighed, placing the plate on a nearby table.) Where all the dasi go...and other princess... kuru family will be here in any time.

Janvi: (Giggling through the mirror) I am trying, Ma! I just told prisha Ma, I sent the others to get ready so we wouldn't mess up the room.

Drutika: (Scooping up a small bite of food and walking over to her) Well, you need to eat right now. Once the rituals start, you won't get a single bite until the pheras are over. Open your mouth.

As Drutika began to feed her, Janvi chewed happily.

Jhanvi: You wouldn't believe the chaos outside anyway. Gauri's new cattle broke loose in the royal barns this morning. The calf was being so naughty, running around the courtyard, ruining the flower decorations! and the guards were running around like fools trying to catch it.

Even though is the eldest still she is a child..as her mother's smile as they looked at each other..the warmth of the food and her mother's chatter making the wedding jitters fade away. But as Drutika fed her another bite, the queen's hand trembled slightly. The playful tone vanished, replaced by a sudden softness in her eyes. She looked at Janvi, then at Prisha, her eyes welling up with tears.

Drutika: I still can't believe it... (She whispered, her voice cracking.) We got our daughters back after so many years of longing... and now, we are already marrying you off.

Prisha stopped combing Janvi's hair, her own eyes turning red as she looked at her eldest daughter through the mirror. The pain of the years spent apart from the three time-traveling sisters was still fresh, and now, the joy of reunion was mixing with the bittersweet reality of bidai (farewell).

Janvi: (Reaching up to hold both of her mothers' hands, swallowing her food) ma... look at me. Don't cry. You didn't lose us. If anything, you are just gaining a whole army of Kuru sons-in-law to trouble. Especially Duryu, he's going to be visiting Panchal so much you'll get tired of him.
