STAY STRONG

LOCATION;; cocoa beach, florida, usa

TIME;; 11:03, saturday

Cocoa beach, one of the best surfing locations in the world. I was here with my best friend, Mark, another surfing fanatic. We had woken up a little earlier this morning to get to the beach and make the most of the waves before the families started flocking in. I tied up my long, silky blonde hair in a pony tail, my blue eyes lighting up as I saw the large waves hit off the rocks violently.

"Check out those waves," Mark said, his aussie accent thick. I smiled, "better go catch them, eh?" I said playfully.

He started to sprint to the water, I followed behind him closely. We both got into the water at the same time, when the water got about chest deep we got on our boards and paddled out to the waves.

"Big one up ahead!" Mark pointed out.

I smiled, my heart started racing with excitement. The wave started to pick up, lifting both of us to the wake of the wave. Me and Mark both stood up as we started sliding down the wave, my heart was beating hard against my chest, I could feel the adrenaline flow through my veins. The wave started caving in, and soon it was a race to the end of the wave.

"Agh!-" Mark cried, but his words stopped abruptly as he was sucked beneath the wave. I turned my head to see what happened behind me and laughed, assuming he just slipped of his board. The wave soon melted back into the sea and I sat back down on my board, breathing heavily from the rush.

"I won that one, Mark!" I announced smugly, spinning my board around to face where he was- or where he should have been.

"Mark?" I asked, looking around for him. He wasn't anywhere to be seen. I swallowed, a bit scared now. "Come on Mark, this isn't funny..."

No answer. I was now really worried, a lumped started forming in my throat and I urgently paddled back to where Mark bailed. My eyes widened at what I saw. Blood.

"MARK!" I cried, unhooking my ankle grip and diving under water, following the trail of blood. I saw faintly in the distance a dark figure. I made a desperate attempt to swim to it, hoping it was Mark... but it wasn't. It

was a great white shark, and he looked like he had just finished a meal. I screamed, seeing Mark's trunks float from the inside of the shark's mouth. My air supply was gone now, I was blacking out. The last thing I saw was the shark approach me...
