“Bu- but - that’s impossible!”

The whole party was in shock, as the Internet had just confirmed that Angelica had seen a Velociraptor. Even Ben was shocked, but it was for a different reason.

“It’s not possible,” He muttered, “Even if there were real Velociraptors, they would be short and have feathers. How is this even possible…?”

TAAAAAAKE AAAAAAND EEEEEEEEAT!”

Ben’s head snapped up. “What was that?” He thought, a chill spreading through his body after hearing the voice. He stood up nervously, looking around for a potential source of the voice. He called over his friends, “Double Trouble” brothers Tyson and Tyler, as well as Schuyler.

“What’s wrong, main man?” Tyson asked flippantly, his face a seemingly perfect place for mischief and mayhem to thrive. Tyler was being quieter than usual, but that was probably because he was putting some finishing touches on his bombing helicopter. He was planning on dropping paper balls filled with goo on Rebekah’s head after the party.

“Something… doesn’t feel right,” Ben muttered to his friends, “I feel something bad is going to happen.”

Schuyler just waved his hand. “Naaa, everything’s gonna be fine. Believe me, I’ve gone to a billion parties, and not once has there ever been an accident. Don’t you worry at all.”

Ben nodded, but the uncomfortable feeling in his stomach remained. Ben’s premonitions were usually right, and he had a bad feeling about what would happen by the end of the party…

Josh stepped to the front of the crowd. “All right, everybody calm, we’re gonna deal with this. Luckily this was a sleepover party. If there really are Jurassic Park Velociraptors out there, which, frankly, I doubt, you won’t have to worry about your parents getting eaten. Let’s just lock the doors, and-“

But he was interrupted by a thump at the door. Not a light tap a parent coming to pick up their child would make, but a loud slam. The kind of noise that someone would associate with a large body. Outside, Ben, Rachel and Josh heard a chant-like whisper.

TAKE AND EAT, TAKE AND EAT, TAKE AND EAT

And then it grew louder:

TAKE AND EAT, TAKE AND EAT, TAKE AND EAT, TAKE AND EAT!”

The door began to splinter under the force of whatever was outside. Aria and George ran down the stairs in response to the noises.

“Everyone, get in the basement. NOW!” Aria yelled, pushing the partygoers through the door at the bottom of a long flight of stairs. George pulled the door closed, but before he did, the front door was busted down, and Josh caught a glimpse of something.

Something with large sickle-like claws, dead green eyes, and brown scaly skin.

“Quickly, everyone away from the door!” Aria said as the party-goers retreated further away. The sound of peeling wood was coming from the direction of the door. And one thing Josh knew about the door, was that the wood was very old.

“I’m scared!” Rebekah Talwen shrieked as a large claw punctured the ancient door. It was stuck there for a few moments before pulling itself free. Then through the hole it made, there appeared an eye. An all seeing eye, so much that Josh thought it was staring straight through him at the wall behind.

OOOOOO, THERE ARE OTHER ONE. THEY MAKE GOOD EEEEEEEEEEEAT? YES, MUCH EAT FOR US. MABYE SOME FOR BIG ONE. BUT US MOST!” It hissed at the group. Rachel physically shuddered.

Then the slamming started, so forceful that it seemed that the door would splinter into a million pieces. Shards of wood began to fly everywhere. The small hole exploded into a large gap. A large head peeked into the room. It was long and slender; it’s mouth open in an evil, toothy grin. Thick, ropey strands of saliva dripped down onto the concrete.

A large aluminum bat sped through the air, and smashed into the lizard’s snout. Josh turned to see Rachel hefting the metal object.

“When I planned this party, I wasn’t expecting to be playing Whack-A-Mole with dinosaurs,” she smiled. She smashed the bat into the face of a second raptor that had tried to take a nip at her arm.

“We’re going to need a stronger door,” Aria muttered as the hole in the door began to widen again. She ran over to the wall and began to feel around. She found a small latch on the concrete wall and pulled it up. A small square hole was revealed, which contained a red lever. Aria yanked it down, and a steel wall rapidly lowered behind the door. The raptors redoubled their efforts, but it was too late. The metal wall fell into place with resounding boom.
