PHOTO OF ASHTONN ON THE SIDE >>>
I sat in my study, worried. Alfred arrived with a tray of food.
“Has anybody seen him yet?” I asked.
“None yet Master Lee.” Alfred bowed. “My apologies.”
I sighed and shook my head. “You did nothing wrong, Alfred. Ash is depressed, that’s why he ran off.”
Then the gang arrived, but I noticed that Huntress wasn’t with them.
“Hey, how are you?” Jaeson asked.
I shrugged, and ran my hand over my eyes. The gang exchanged looks and walked up.
“I’ve had our guards looking for him, as well.” Hunter said, “He couldn’t have gone far.”
“The academy’s security is also patrolling the grounds and the town for any sign of him.” Winter added.
I gave a weak nod, still had nothing to say. Then someone knocked, I quickly looked up hoping for some news, and saw Huntress stepped inside.
“Hey…” she said with a smile, I sighed and sat back. “What’s the entire ruckus outside? I’m not missing am I?”
“Hun, Romeo Lee’s little brother is missing.” Tathiannah said.
“Oh,” she said, “well I brought someone who wanted to see you. But I guess you’re too busy for him.”
I sat up, “Someone to see me?”
She smiled again and looked out of the door, “C’mon in little guy… its ok, don’t worry.”
I sat up looking, then I saw Ash peek, I felt relief run through me as I stood up and ran toward him.
“Ash!” I took him in my arms and checked him from head to toe. “Are you ok? Where were you? We’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
“In the garden…” he whispered.
I looked up at Huntress, “He was hiding under a tree outside my study. I saw him there and heard all the rushing in the house and thought he might be the one they’re looking for.” She said, and then she reached for Ash’s hair and messed it up. “I guess I was right.”
Ash looked up at her and stifled a laugh. I grinned, stood up and faced her.
“Thank you, Huntress.” I said, “Thank you so much.”
She brushed it off, “Forget about it, glad to be of help.” She said with a wink, “Anyway, I need to find Iahejlle. You guys want to come?”
“Oh, definitely!” Lei said excitedly, “I want to see her latest masterpiece.”
They all turned to leave, but Ash grabbed Huntress’ hand, Huntress stopped and knelt down to him with a smile.
“What is it, love?” she asked.
“Can I come?” he asked.
Huntress glanced at me then at Ash, she reached for his face and ran her hand through his hair, “Sure you can. That is if you’d ask permission from your brother.”
Ash smiled and turned to me, “Can we go big brother? Oh, please, please, please?” he begged.
“Only if you promise me that you’ll never disappear like that again.”
Ash’s smile widened. “I promise.” I smiled at him and nodded.
Then he ran toward Huntress and took her hand. Huntress stood up and smiled down at him, “You ready?”
