When Akashi opened her locker where her indoor shoes were, there were more envelopes there than yesterday. It's been two days since the first accursed letter was found in her locker, but every passing day, they just seem to increase in number.

This is problematic. She sighed.

"Someone's quite popular here, eh?" she looked over at Nijimura who was leaning against the lockers with arms crossed against his chest and a smirk on his lips.

"Speak for yourself," her brows furrowed but a small smile found its way on her lips.

Nijimura chuckled. "At least I don't receive those on a daily basis,"

Akashi took all the letters and stacked them properly at the farthest part of her locker. Should she read all of them? But she might puke even before finishing one. "Ne Senpai, do you think I should just burn all of these?" she asked him as she changed into her indoor shoes with a frown.

"That's too cruel Akashi," he walked over to her and took a letter from her locker, "They put all their feelings in writing these you know."

"But you don't even read every single letter you receive," she replied taking the letter from his hand. She put it back to the stack of letters in her locker then made a mental note to deal with those later(be it having the incinerator or simply reading them). "That's called hypocrisy, Senpai."

"Guilty," he said putting his hands in the air like an act of surrendering, slightly amused.

Teikou's Basketball team was to have a tune-up game against another school this Saturday. They did just mild training as to not strain their bodies too much.

"These are more data about tomorrow's opponent Akashi-chan," Momoi said handing some papers to Akashi who gracefully received them. The redhead mumbled a hardly audible 'thanks' before reading through the papers. It was just a tune-up game but Teikou can't afford to lose. Winning was Teikou's way after all.

A hundred battles, a hundred victories.

It may sound ridiculous to others, but Akashi personally liked Teikou's motto. She, who had never suffered defeat, was the only one who understood how it was to experience Teikou's motto. She didn't know how it feels to lose, and she had no plan to experience it.

She skimmed through the data, and a small smile appeared on her lips. That school's team will surely suffer a crushing defeat.

"They're quite good, eh?" she heard Nijimura's voice right beside her ear. She turned and instantly jerked away a little when she saw her captain's face just a few inches away from hers. He was leaning forward peeking at the paper on her hands over her shoulder.

"Sorry, did I startle you?" he said scratching the nape of his neck as he straightened his back. Nijimura didn't want to make assumptions, but he could've sworn he saw a tint of red on her cheeks. Shit.

"A little," she replied honestly regaining her composure. Akashi thought that her body was reacting... strange. She could feel her temperature rise a little but decided to just ignore it. Maybe she'll just tell Izumi about it later.

"Quite good, yes," she said agreeing to his earlier statement. She shifted her eyes back to the paper in hand choosing to ignore the strange way her body was reacting to Nijimura's close proximity to her.

"But?" Nijimura asked waiting for her next words. He knew she had more to say.

Akashi smiled at that, "But not enough to win against us."

"Even without our best point guard?" he asked jokingly referencing to a certain player in their team who has the number nine on his jersey.

"Even without him," she replied confidently. Akashi wanted to play but she obviously can't. Not in her current state. She'll have to settle for watching at the sidelines for now.
