Eugene
I packed my last box and taped it shut with a loud sigh. I stood up and looked around my old room. Boxes upon boxes were stacked on top of each other.
"Eugenie! Mr Jung and his son are here to help us move." My mother called out.
"I'm coming, eomma." I called out. I picked up two boxes and moved them to the lounge so the guys can load them into the truck. I repeated this until there were no more boxes in my room. As I was carrying the last box, I accidentally bumped into someone, and dropped it.
"Oh. I'm so sorry!" That someone apologized. I picked up the box and smiled at them.
"That's ok. There's nothing fragile in here, anyway." I spoke shyly.
"I'll take that." He said, grasping a hold of the box. "I'm Hoseok."
"Eugene." We started walking towards the truck as we continued our conversation.
"I'm your new neighbor. My father saw that the house next door sold, so he phoned your mother and offered to help move."
"That's sweet. Maybe we could hang out after I've unpacked my room." I suggested.
"I'll help you unpack if you would like." He grunted as he placed the box down.
"Aw. Thank you, but I'd rather do it by myself. Sorry." I shyly told him. We walked back inside to hear laughter. We looked over at our parents, and I smiled at my mother who's face was glowing happily.
"I think my eomma likes your appa." I whispered to Hoseok.
"I know that my appa likes your eomma." He chuckled sweetly. Our parents soon noticed that we were in the room.
"Are you ready to leave, Eugene?" Eomma asked.
"Ready when you are."
"Lets go, shall we?" She asked rhetorically. I smiled as I took one last look at the empty worn down house.
"Goodbye old friend." I sighed as I was releasing the toxic air that I breathed while living here. I walked out the door one last time, and got into my mothers car.
"I see you met Hoseok." Eomma commented.
"Yes, he's a very sweet person." I stated. "And I saw the way you looked at Mr Jung."
"Eugenie, Eugenie... We're old friends." She blushed.
"I think you should date Mr Jung. You two would be a cute couple, and Hoseok would be a cool step-brother." I joked.
"Yah, you pabo. I'm fine by myself. I'm a strong and independent woman."
"That's exactly what someone who's lonely would say. Admit it, eomma. Ever since appa passed away, you haven't been the happiest person."
"What do you expect, Eugene? Of course I'm not going to be as happy as I used to be when your father was alive. I loved him very much, and his death still haunts me." I could see her eyes glisten with tears, but being the person she is, held them back because she wouldn't want to ruin her all-too-perfect make-up.
"I loved him too, but sometimes we have to move on from certain things, and this is one of them. He would want you to be happy. I think you should live a little. Hoseok told me that his father likes you, so maybe later on when we finish unpacking some stuff, I'll leave the house, and you can tell Mr Jung to come over. Get to know him again." I suggested. There was a silence for a few moments as a thoughtful expression took over my mothers face.
"Ok. But I'm only doing this because your words were quite wise." She raised her eyebrows.
I giggled. "I'm wiser than I let you think." I looked in front of me as we were turning in to the driveway. The car stopped and I rushed out, going to the Jung's truck to take some boxes from the back. Hoseok followed me to my new room as he placed some boxes in there. I continued to help collect boxes and placed them in the rooms the objects inside it were allocated to go. Within half an hour, there were boxes scattered everywhere.
I went into my room and shut the door, stacking some boxes in front of it so my mother wouldn't be able to barge in.
"V!" I whisper-yelled. The puff of smoke appeared out of the lamp and materialized before me.
"Hello Master Eugene. It took you long enough to arrive." Taehyung spoke with a humorous attitude.
"Nice to see you too, Taehyung." I lazily waved at him as I ripped tape off of a box.
"Do you have a wish yet?" He asked.
"Um, no... Not yet. I'm waiting for the right thing to make it's way into my head, but I just can't think of anything." I chewed on my lip as I thought.
"Well then there's no reason for me to be here." He got ready to snap his fingers, but I stopped him.
"No, wait. Can we talk as I unpack my room?" I questioned.
"Why?"
"Because if you're going to be hanging around for a while, we're going to need to get to know each other." I informed him.
"Alright. Might as well make myself comfortable. You can start first." He huffed as he crossed his legs in the air and closed his eyes.
"Wow, you're annoying once you feel content with someone." I rolled my eyes as I started placing things on shelves.
"Thank you for your delightful complement." He spoke in monotone, his eyes still shut. "Speak, master."
"Well... My father passed away almost a year ago. My best friends name is Minah. I have a boyfriend who's name is Jimin, but my mother doesn't know about him. If I told her, she would most likely not-no... She would definitely not be very happy about it, and would probably hit me numerous times. Now tell me about yourself." I explained shortly. He opened his eyes and thought for a moment.
"Ok... Uh... I don't remember much from before I was sent to Earth. They erased most of my memory to keep me from exposing Jupiter's ways." Taehyung clarified.
"That must be hard for you." I sympathized as I started to walk towards my amazing walk in closet. Taehyung floated behind me, watching each thing I did.
"It's not really difficult at all, because you don't remember your family, or if you had one or not, so there's nothing to feel bad about."
"Do you even feel emotions?" I asked jokingly, furrowing my eyebrows at how easily Taehyung flung those words around.
"Not entirely. Genie's don't feel the deep emotions. Like love, hate, depression, jealousy, anxiety, etc. It can happen, but it's very rare to find a genie that has felt them."
