Eugene
"Thanks for this, Jin." I gestured to the coffee sitting on the table of the cafe I used to work at.
"It's the least I could do. With everything that has happened, you definitely need one." He sighed.
"You too. I-I'll get your money back. I used to work here. I'm pretty close with my boss." I assured him, stuttering.
"Oh. Thanks, Eugene." We both took sips of our coffees, and sat in silence for about a minute, although it didn't feel like one.
"I'm really sorry... about Hana. I know you loved her very much." I apologized, all of a sudden finding a new interest with my light arm hairs.
"I-It wasn't your fault, so you shouldn't be apologizing." Jin shook his head and slightly bowed it down.
"But, I can't help to feel slightly responsible. If I just kissed Jimin at least once..." I started to trail off, but Jin interrupted anyway.
"Don't blame yourself for Jimin's impatience. If he really loved you, he would of waited until you were ready. He's an idiot for cheating on you. How long have I known you now? 11 years? Maybe 12? And I know for sure that you're an amazing young lady with a fantastic personality. Jimin is just too childish for you. You're better off without him. I think we all are... To think he was my best friend, and for 9 years." Jin huffed, angrily.
"Jin, Jin, Jin, Jin, Jin." I said quickly. " Calm down. I know you're angry, hurt, sad and heartbroken, but everything happens for a reason. Us finding out the truth was the best thing. Even though it was hurtful, it's going to open up new doors for us. Just remember that nothing lasts forever and that the reason why Jimin and Hana are leaving our lives, is to make room for new, better people." I sadly smiled, quoting along the lines of Taehyung's words.
"Very wise words. Who told you that?"
"A family friend of mine."
"They seem interesting." He let out a slight giggle.
"He is quite the handful, though." I smiled. There was another silence between us as we both sipped on our coffees. Thoughts continued to process through my mind, and I started to feel more and more unhappy. The frown returned on my face as someone entered the cafe. I looked up and saw Hana, who was still covered in my lunch. I kicked Jin under the table and pointed my head towards her. He followed my gesture and saw her, scoffing as he turned back around. Hana seemed to have spot us, because she made her way over to us quickly.
"Jin, Eugene. Please just listen."
"Go away, Hana." Jin said calmly, yet menacingly.
"I just need to talk to the both of you." She scratched her head, and a small bit of my sandwich that I threw on her earlier, fell out of her hair.
"There's nothing to talk about. Not even an apology is going to fix this." He spat. Jimin entered through the door, quickly searched around, and then sped walked over as soon as he found us.
"Please, can we talk to the both of you?" Jimin pleaded. I rolled my eyes and stood up. I picked up my coffee and tugged on Jin's sleeve.
"Come with me." He stood up, coffee already in hand, and followed me behind the counter.
"Where are you going?" "No, don't go over there." "We need to talk, please." Random chatter came from Jimin and Hana, but I was doing my best to ignore it as I was holding in tears. We went through the claustrophobic kitchen and out the back, where we were met with Namjoon, who was stacking empty boxes onto the delivery truck.
"Namjoon." I mumbled. He turned around and had a big smile on his face.
"Hey kiddo! What's been going o- What's the matter?" His smile instantly dropped, and a concerned look took over his face.
"Jimin cheated on me with one of my closest friends." I covered my face and started to sob. I felt arms wrap around me, and I realised that both Namjoon and Jin were both hugging me. "Do you remember Hana? She came in a lot when I worked here." I asked.
"I do."
"Well that's who Jimin cheated on me with. She was Jin's girlfriend." I released myself from their grasps and sat on the step that lead inside.
"I'm Jin." He shortly introduced himself as he sat next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Namjoon... I'm really sorry to hear about this. Is there anything I can do for you both?"
"Give Jin his money back." I blurted.
"Will do. Anything else?" Namjoon questioned. I took the last sip of my coffee as I thought.
"It would be kind of funny to see you yell at them to get out of the cafe. I don't know if they're still here, but we can see?" Jin suggested. I lazily chuckled at the idea. It was dumb, yet so simple. Exactly my type.
"Sounds like a plan. Lets go." We all went inside and made our way to the main part of the cafe, where we found Hana and Jimin waiting at a table anxiously, arguing with each other.
"What even came over you to tell them?" Hana hissed.
"I don't know. I just felt like I had to. I couldn't stop myself even if I wanted to. I can't explain it. It was such an odd feeling." Jimin explained.
"You pabo! I lost Jin because of you. I loved him." She spat.
"Clearly not a lot if you agreed to kiss me."
"You're one to talk! You were almost crying about how much you loved Eugene. 'Eeehhh. I love you so much to the point where I think I'm in love with you. Eeehhh.' Oh please." She scoffed. I nodded at Namjoon and he confidently made his way over to them. Jin and I stayed behind the counter, watching as he worked his magic.
"Excuse me? Jimin and Hana, right?" Namjoon approached with a calm agenda. They both nodded, confused. "Are you two going to buy anything?"
"Uh, no. Sorry." Jimin replied.
"Then I'm going to have to ask you to leave. There are many paying customers that need a table."
"No. We're not leaving." Hana squinted her eyes and looked Namjoon up and down.
"I said buy something or leave!" He yelled. His tone was frightening, which made them quickly get up and go. They were clearly not bothering to put up a fight.
"That was fantastic." Jin giggled.
"Did you see the looks on their faces? They were not expecting that." Namjoon exaggerated. I joined in on the laughter until it died down.
"Thanks to the both of you for helping me. I'm going to go home now. I need to spend some time alone... Jin, I hope you feel better soon." I hugged the both of them as I walked out the door, each saying an individual goodbye.
