"Mrs. Jenks, Mr. Lenard would like to speak to you in his office. He said that the new partner is here for orientation and would like for you to introduce yourself." Erika said in a hurry.

"Thank You, Erik-"

The door closed before Aila could even finish her sentence. Aila frowned at the closed door and shrugged.

Okay...

Aila sighed heavily and walked down the hall towards Bobs' office. She didn't know what Bob was thinking when he hired a new partner on the spot. He had to be something special. So, after her meeting with Bob yesterday, Aila decided to ask Erika to do some research on him. And all her notions were right. From reading the multiple newspaper articles, plus seeing the endless People Magazine covers, Aila knew she was right. He was rich, obnoxious, a womanizer, and, even Aila admitted, devastatingly handsome. All the things she knew he would be.

Aila took a deep breath before knocking on Bobs office door.

Here we go..

Daniel POV

"....and then he was said, 'I can't understand how you won the case!'. And I looked him in the eye and said 'I'm Bob Lenard, I never loose a case.' The idiots face was priceless...."

Daniel was tired. He had been listening to Bob talk about his experiences on different cases in the past all day. Honestly, all Bob wanted to do was curl up on that nice champagne sofa and take a nap.

"..so I just laughed in his face and said, get off my nuts Hemmel! What a dou-"

There was a knock at the door and Bob stopped talking and looked at his watch. Daniel looked out the big bay window while his boss got up and opened the door.

"Aila! What a surprise!"

"Oh, shut up Bob. You sent for me you idiot."

"Ooh. Feisty this morning, are we?"

A whiff of lilac and vanilla delved into Daniels nose and he immediately wasn't tired anymore. The smell was energizing, invigorating. He turned his head towards the door and was dazed by what he saw.

Aila moved around Bob, and caught her new partner, Daniel starring at her with a dazed look in his eyes.

Those eyes.

Those beautiful hazel eyes, speckled with green and blue were so......so....

Sexy...

"Earth to Aila!" Bob screamed in her ear.

"What!?" said Aila, irritated , but she still continued to stare at Daniel.

"This is our new partner, Dan-"

Daniel quickly stood up with his hand outstretched and introducing himself.

"Daniel, Daniel Ackart. Pleased to meet you Ms....?"

He gave her his award winning-womanizing smile, sure that she would succumb to his handsomeness.

Aila immediately snapped out of her trance. What the hell was she doing? This was his game; what he was good at. She smirked, I can play that game even better.

She bit her lip and looked at him through her long, dark lashes.

"Aila Jenks."

Daniel still had his hand out, knowing that she would eventually shake it.

"You can put your hand down, because I'm not going to shake it."

Ailas' facial expression turned into a uninterested, far off look.

Daniel looked at her, surprised. The smirk didn't work?

He awkwardly put his hand by his side, and cleared his throat.

"Um....okay," said Bob, "Why don't we all have a seat."

Ericka came into Bobs office and told him that one of his clients were waiting in the lobby.

"Oh! I completely forgot about this appointment. Aila, can you please keep Daniel company? It will only take a couple of minutes."

Aila turned to Bob and gave him a 'what the hell' face. She was just supposed to come in, introduce herself, and leave. Now she had to keep him company?

"Please, Aila." Bob begged and sported his famous puppy dog face that Aila cold never say no to. Aila rolled her eyes, and looked back at Daniel. He was still starring at her in awe.

"Fine, Go."

"Thanks a lot Aila." Bob said with a smirk. His puppy dog face always worked.

Aila gave Bob a dirty look as he rushed out of his office to go attend to his client. She walked passed Daniel to go sit on her favorite champagne colored sofa.

Daniel watched as Ailas' hips naturally swayed when she walked.

Damn..

Aila sat down and saw that Daniel was still starring at her. She snapped her fingers in his face.

"Hey rookie, has anyone ever told you its not polite to stare?" She said with a smirk on her face.

Daniel blushed and looked away.

Oh, this is going to be fun. Aila said to herself.
