Dipper froze. He didn't know who or what had said that, but he knew that he wasn't going to like it. Slowly, he turned around, only to be met face to face (or eye to eye since he didn't really have a full face anymore) with some weird hybrid pink monster who looked very powerful and threatening. She looked at Dipper with a spark of joy in her eyes, but he could tell that it was coming from a cruel and chaotic place. He gulped, which didn't show at all in his new form since he wasn't even sure if he had a throat or a mouth or...whatever. He decided not to think too much about that and instead, he tried to gather enough confidence to respond. "UH-YEP! THAT'S ME! IM THE ONE AND ONLY BILL CIPHER!"
Bill scoffed from within Dipper's mind. 'REAL SMOOTH KID.' Dipper sent him a mental eye role. 'Shut up.' The pink monster looked at Dipper strangely. "Uh, Bill? you ok? You seem bit...different. And not the fun different." Dipper panicked. Shoot shoot shoot, he was gonna blow his cover! He was trying to pause time for the world around him, but apparently, that doesn't work in the nightmare realm. Figures. "UH, UH YEA! SORRY...UH..." *THINK DIPPER THINK!* Then suddenly, it came to him. "SORRY. ITS JUST...THAT STUPID PINES FAMILY. THEY'RE REALLY...DESPERATE TO FIGHT BACK."
Bill laughed in Dipper's head. 'OH, OH I DON'T KNOW WHICH IS BETTER! THAT YOU CALLED YOURSELF AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY STUPID, OR THAT YOU ADMITTED HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE!' Dipper sent some mental thoughts back at Bill. Thankfully the *no time passing when you're mentally communicating with yourself* rule was still somehow working despite the fact that he couldn't pause time in general in the nightmare realm. 'Well, I was clearly desperate since it literally came down to making a deal with you or watching the town slowly die...' Bill laughed. 'AH, MEMORIES!' Dipper ignored him. Whatever.
The Pink monster's face changed entirely after he said that. "Ohhhhhhh! Now it all makes sense! You must've had quite a day if you're this drained from dealing with that, what's his name, Pinetree kid." She had an evil spark in her eye and flexed her claws out on her hand. "You know... I could deal with him for you if you want-" Dipper cut her off way too quickly. "UH THAT WONT BE NECESSARY! UH-I MEAN, I'VE ALREADY GOT MY OWN BIG PLANS FOR HIM! WHAT I NEED RIGHT NOW IS TO JUST GET A BREAK."
Bill mentally communicated with Dipper again. 'YOU GOT A BREAK KID! YOU WERE ASLEEP FOR HOURSSSSSS! WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT?!' Dipper ignored him, as he clearly was not in the mood to have THAT discussion right now. The pink monster nodded. "Oh, poor Bill. You do need a break. Something relaxing." Dipper smiled. "YES." The monster continued. "Something that will make you feel better." Dipper was grinning now. "YES!" The monster grinned as well. "Something CHAOTIC!" Dipper kept grinning. "YES-" He then just realized what the last thing she said was. And Bill was dying of laughter in Dipper's head.
"Well then, come on Bill! We'll get the gang together and cause some good ol fashion chaos, just like the old times!" ...What was Dipper supposed to do here? Like...really??? He somehow managed to continue smiling and he nodded. "HA HA! SOUNDS GOOD!" The monster grinned and then took his hand. "Let's go!" And before Dipper could process what was happening, both him and the monster dissolved into a stream of weirdness and floated in whatever direction the monster was taking them.
Stan and Ford sat on the couch, about to play the recording that Stan had taken. Stan was confused and a bit annoyed due to Ford's lack of any explanation whatsoever. "Seriously Ford, what's going on-" Ford cut him off. "Shhhhhh I'll explain after. But right now, it is urgent that we watch this recording." And so, Mabel's Sock Opera began to play. Ford watched the screen carefully for any clues or anything that might help them. He couldn't find anything so far. He was about to give up, but then, all of a sudden, Stan started nudging him. "OOO OOO! This is the best part!" Ford rolled his eyes at the nudge but watched intrigued.
Randomly out of no where, Dipper and Mabel came crashing down from the top of the stage. They were fighting over a dark red book. Ford's eyes grew wide. "The Journal!" Then, Mabel hit her brother with it as they continued to wrestle over it. She starting screaming out loud. "Get out of my brother's body you evil triangle!" Now, Ford's eyes grew even wider as he froze in astonishment. He realized what had really happened. Just when he didn't think he could possibly be any angrier, sadly, he was about to be proven wrong. Because the next thing that played was a clip of Stan's voice, and instead of worrying at all about Dipper seemingly getting beaten up by a book, he literally said, "Wow! Children fighting! I can sell this!" In present time, Stan laughed out loud. "Hahaha! Ah, past me. Always knows what he's talking about."
Ford was trying not to throw something at Stan's face out of anger. "Stanley, are you telling me that you literally just sat there and laughed while your nephew was getting beat up by a book!?!" Stan kept laughing. "Oh, oh come on Sixer! No harm was done!" Ford was loosing it. "But there was harm done Stan! T-that, that wasn't even Dipper!" Stan squinted at the TV as if trying to observe what Ford said. "Hm, no. I know my nephew. And that's definitely him."
Ford smacked his face. "He's POSSESSED Stanley! Don't you see?! He was possessed by Bill!" Stan now slowly nodded his head, still looking at the screen. "Huh. That would explain the lizard eyes." Ford had literally had it at this point. "Alright, that's it Stanley! You're going to tell me exactly what happened after the play. Every! detail!" Stan rolled his eyes. "Sheesh, sheesh, alright! Uh, let's see..."
And that's chapter 19! Fun fact, I actually had to re-write this entire chapter because I hated the first draft lol. I think this one feels a lot more fitting for the story.
Ok so, I have more free time now so the goal is to have a regular posting schedule. I'm going to be ambitious and say they'll be a new chapter every 2 weeks, but realistically it will probably be once a month. I will still try though! My plan is to post the rest of the Mabelcorn arc. As you may have noticed, the story's title was recently changed to "How To Be A Triangle Part 1" instead of just How To Be A Triangle. This is because, I have decided to make Weirdmageddon into a 2nd book. Therefore, "Part 1" will have 3 arcs total. These will be the intro arc (which is already completed and posted), the Mabelcorn arc (What is currently being posted), and the Dipper and Mabel vs The Future arc. When the Mabelcorn arc is done (estimated to be done around chapter 27) the story will go on break again.
