Wendy stopped and looked at Mabel. "...Wait...what?" Mabel dreaded what she was out to do next...but it had to be done. It was their last chance. "Dipper...Dipper's in danger. More danger than ever before. And this unicorn hair...this mission...is our best chance of saving him." Wendy was silent. She didn't know what to say. Eventually, she glanced at Mabel, giving her a look that could only be interpreted as "we'll talk about this later." Then, a an expression of determination formed on her face. "Then we gotta get that hair."
Celestabelabethabelle froze. "Wait...You...need the unicorn hair...for helping out someone you care about??" The unicorn looked skeptical, but it truly was the most genuine thing she'd heard that day. Soos, who was also processing all this, nodded. "Yea dude...if Dipper needs saving, we'll do anything to help him!" Mabel was pretty frustrated at the unicorn. Not only did she imply that she wasn't pure of heart...now she had forced her to give up her biggest secret!
Wendy joined in with Soos. "Yea...Dipper is my best friend man...he deserves all the help he can get! ...Right Mabel?" Mabel was still annoyed, and part of her wanted to just ignore the unicorn out of spite, but she did want to save Dipper. She sighed. "Yea...my brother would never do anything impure, illegal, or wrong unless he had a good reason for it!"
*And now a scene shift where we cut to Dipper in the Nightmare Realm*
OH GOSH DID HE ACTUALLY JUST ROB AN ACTUAL BANK?! FOR WHAT?! JUST TO PROTECT HIS IDENTITY!!! Sirens were going off as he ran away with the others. They were all manically laughing as they carried their stolen prizes. He didn't want to join in but he was unfortunately laughing with them anyway for 2 reasons. One, he still had to blend in and it was definitely something that Bill would do. And two...it was almost instinctual...like it felt good to do it...not that he was going to think abt that too much. Someone else was laughing too. In his brain.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! WOW! DIPPER PINES, THE DIPPER PINES, THE LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, THE PURE OF HEARTED TOWN SAVIOR...JUST ROBBED A DEMON BANK! OH! OH OH AXOLOL, THAT'S GOING IN THE SCRAPBOOK!!!" Scrapbook?! The heck was this guy talking abt?! Dipper didn't have the time or mental capacity to think abt that. He was too busy trying to keep up with the others, and calm his heart rate down so that he doesn't die of a panic attack. Eventually, the group of demons made it to a safe area and started to unload their treasure. One of them grinned like the Cheshire Cat.
"Ohhhhh man! Look at all of this loot we picked up today! Hit the jackpot!" The other demons around them all smiled or nodded in agreement. The pink monster took out some sort of celebratory drink and raised it high. "You can say that again! And it's all thanks to this guy right here!" Without warning, she put her arm around Dipper and pulled him close. "That's what you get when you hang out with THE Bill Cipher!" Dipper gulped, but quickly smirked and played along with their game. He laughed, summoned his own drink, and raised it high. "To our victory! And to many more! A small taste of what the future holds for us!"
The demons all cheered and laughed and drank their cups. And for a slight...very slight moment, Dipper felt...good. Not bec of the Bill influence...or even his new appearance. No...it was bec he was at a social event...and everyone was treating him like he belonged. He wasn't last...wasn't even second. He was number one. And even if it technically wasn't right, for that one singular happy moment, he smiled a genuine smile as he took it all in. Then that moment was over. His joyous expression turned to a nervous one before flashing back into a masking one.
"WELL GUYS...I-I THINK I BETTER HEAD BACK FOR THE DAY...GOTTA CONTINUE WITH MY PLANS AND...LOT'S MORE DEALS TO BE MADE! BUT SEE YA!" As he turned to leave, he bumped straight into the pink monster who was crossing her arms and blocking his path. "What's the rush? There's still so much more to do! And you'll stay for it...right?" That look that she shot him...what did it mean? It seemed slightly...threatening. Was she... was she onto him? Or...or was this just how her relationship with Bill usually went? What was he supposed to do here? Well...one thing seemed clear. If he left now, it wouldn't be good for him.
"PFFT, YEA, OFC I'LL STAY FOR IT! LIKE I'D MISS THIS!" Ok now...how would Bill say that he has to go soon?... "BUT DON'T EXPECT ME TO SPEND ALL NIGHT WITH YOU FREAKS...I'VE GOT OTHER PLACES TO BE YOU KNOW! I MEAN, YOU'RE SPECIAL BUT YOU'RE NOT THAT SPECIAL!" The monster seemed to change her expression at this. Any skepticism was gone and she seemed convinced that it was really Bill. Check check and check. This was gonna be easier than he thought.
Meanwhile, in Dipper's mind, Bill was having some thoughts of his own. "Hmmm...the kid is actually handling this pretty well...and even enjoying himself a bit? Well...this little game was going to be a lot more fun than he initially was planning.
