The next morning Malik wakes with the sun shining directly in his face and He streches "Anyone know what time it is?" he asks. "8:15" Xavier says from the side of the road. "exactly how do you know that?" Malik says as he rubs his eyes and sits next to him. "I went to the store to get some food and they had a clock in there" Xavier answers as he takes a bite out of his apple. "Where did you get the money to buy that?" Malik questions. "Don't worry about it, why are you asking so many questions?" Xavier says getting slightly annoyed with Malik. "well, sorry" Malik says. Xavier throws Malik his apple as they wait for everyone else to get up. Monica is the next person to get up. "What are you two doing?" She asks as she sits next to Xavier. "eating an apple, waiting for everyone to get up. want yours?" Xavier asks.
"Yeah, sure. How did you get the money to get those?" Monica asks as she grabs her apple. "He's not going to tell, he didn't even want to tell me" Malik says throwing the apple rine across the road. "I have to wake the others up or we're going to miss the train." Xavier says. He Shakes everyone and yells "Get up!". "Leave me alone!!" Ciara screams at the top of her lungs. "No need to be a bitch! we'll just leave you here!" Xavier yells back. "Remember, you promised" Monica says from the side of the road. Xavier sighs loudly and says "Look Ciara, Just come on alright" Xavier says in a soft tone. "whatever" Ciara says rolling her eyes. "There's food over here" Malik yells.
"Hurry up and eat, the train gets here at 9:00, and we have a little walk ahead of us". After everyone is done eating they begin to walk. "How far is the train station from here?" Madison asks. "Yeah, we've been walking for about 10 minutes now" Damion adds. "The only thing you need to worry about is getting there, not how long the walk is" Xavier says in a blunt tone. "Xavier?" Monica asks. "hm?". "What happens when we get to the home for runaways. And you know Chance's birthday is coming soon". "We'll figure it out once we get there, alright?". "You never did tell us how you got those apples, Xavier" Chance says. "Don't worry about it. The only thing that matters is that you ate, right?" Xavier says bluntly.
"And I was the one being a bitch" Ciara says to herself. "I heard that" Taylor says nudging Ciara's arm. "So did I, you know what Ciara you're possibly the BIGGEST bitch I have ever met. Here I am trying to help you and you stay bitching about something! Nothing anyone ever does is good enough for you! I swear to god i fu--" Xavier says but doesn't finish as he looks at Monica who is staring right at him. "You know what, just forget it" He continues. Malik raises an eyebrow at Monica and Xavier trying to figure out what she had on him to make him just shut up like that. "What did he do?" Malik thinks.
"Man, I need some water. It's hot as hell out here" damion says clearing the sweat off his forhead with the bottom of his shirt. "Here" Xavier says pulling out a bottle of water in the black bag he had been carrying. "How did you.....never mind" Damion says as he grabs the water from Xavier. "How much longer do we gotta walk?" Taylor asks. "a few More miles" Xavier answers looking straight ahead. "MILES? ARE YOU SERIOUS!" ciara screams. "Ciara I swear to God.......calm down Xavier, calm down" Xavier says. "Why are you so angry all of a sudden Ciara?" Madison asks
Ciara does not say anything she just glares at Madison. They walk two more miles and arrive at the station. It is filled with very dressed up white people. "Come on" Xavier whispers. The kids run to the right of the station where nobody can see them. "We'll stay here until the train comes then we jump onto the back cart of the train. The door does not have a door, we just have to move fast" Xavier whispers. "what is Ms.Anne is looking for us?" Madison suggests. "She could care less about us, I'm sure she's not worried about looking for us" Damion says.
