Lunch Bell

The girl crouches in a corner
Ignoring the stares that make her crazy

She wants to scream
But her words are stuck

And the lunch bell rings
And it's even worse than before

'Why is she on the floor?'
Come on, ask your friends
Yeah, of course they'll know

Then suddenly a boy sits beside her
He smiles so beautifully
And he laughs so simple

He pretends she's not sad
Talking to her like she's his best friend

And the lunch bell goes
Signalling class time
Better not be late

He stands up
Puts out his hand
Hoping she doesn't refuse

But she does
Shakes her head
And moves closer to the dirty wall

As if it could provide more comfort than him
