Have you ever stopped to admire the wind? How free it is. No rime or reason for it. How nice it must be to be free-flowing. To go through so many different places and never get caught up at once? No restraints and nothing to stop it. To have no one to answer to and nowhere to be. I wish I could be this free. That's very insightful considering that, I have never been on to stop and smell the roses. I've always been 90-nothing since I was a child. Always the wild child. My brother, on the other hand, was the careful one. He cared what people thought, he cared so much and was so mu— that it was actually the death of him. I don't like talking about my brother much.

How I wish I had taken my childhood and be carefree again. What I wouldn't give to be back in my mother's arms again listening to her voice. Or to hear my father yell at my brother one more time. All of that is gone now. I do remember a time when humans were humans and wolves werewolves. That is gone now as well.

Genetic testing on humans lead to the downward spiral of the globe. Humanity, with their apt for greed, couldn't stop. They wanted humans for war to run faster, jump higher and be indestructible. They wanted us to compete with the arising Lycan population. The overall testing was successful. However, once the humans had the DNA injected they mutated and turned to creatures beyond belief. Biting and killing others not tested humans. It killed the majority of our kind. The majority of the children were taken out first, then the women.  This spread mass panic and the human population was reduced to hundreds instead of millions and billions.

I was a doctor before the world ended. I worked in one of the hospitals that treated the majority of these "Infected" cases. We had no antidote and cure for treating these beings. The CDC never recognized the testing therefore we never had a cure. The best we could do was keep the infected locked away and have restricted personnel preside. There were many rumors of how it spread so fast, some say with a doctor and a patient. Others say a child at a school, but no matter how it started it was over in days.

It turned to people eating people, mass hysteria and panic. We did as best we could, trying to keep the cases from going public but It did nothing in the end. Soon, with the outbreak of bloodlust and a wavering human population. We fell to the stronger species. Lycans outnumbered us 2-1. Their numbers were growing as well as other supernatural beings came to light from our darkness. Humans became the minority overnight.

I remember the world on fire, new bulletins blaring to take cover underground because we had been taken over. The president was lost, our nation had fallen and others were following. By the time I had a minute to think, I was all gone.

When it hit me that I could be one of the last people on earth I knew that the best decision was to get as many medical supplies as I could. They would be a hard thing to come by soon. I still had my key cards from the hospital and made use of them. Pillaging around the local grocery stores I located supplies as well and held them down in a bunker for a few months.

The Lycans had taken over the majority of the north. They controlled everything from food to borderlines. They kept tabs on every move you made and every breath you took in their territory.  Here as of recent, it had gotten nothing but worse. Raids began to happen, and soon the streets were empty except for scavengers.

The U.S. had been split into 5 quads and ruled by different species. My home was located in Maryland(east coast), overrun with wolves. The streets were guarded heavily and there was a curfew that ensued. The south-everything below Tennessee was said to be ruled by vampires. The west coast by Wendigo, a demon-like creature. The rest was full of unknowns. Different species lurking around waiting for its next victim. Wolves weren't the worst but not the best. They were clean-as clean as a dog can be.
