I held my head high as Neon led us through the forest. It felt good to know that a couple of the guys thought my abilities were cool. Neon, however, was a different story. She didn't seem too fond of me. Meh... Didn't matter. As long as the faceless man thought my abilities were useful, things would be alright.

A loud pop made me snap my head to the left. The twitching boy, whom was named Toby, had twitched again. His joints cracked when he twitched, but did not seem to harm him. Something about him interested me, perhaps it was the fact that he seemed to be numb to pain? He had smacked into multiple trees and tripped quite a few times due to his twitching, but he didn't seem to notice.

"We're here," Neon's voice brought me back to the present. My eyes widened with awe as I took in the sight before me. A huge Victorian styled mansion towered above us. It was absolutely magnificent.

"Dang," was all I could say.

"Like it?" Masky, who was walking beside me, asked.

"This place is awesome," I said. "There's gotta be at least thirty five rooms crammed in there."

He chuckled in amusement. "Just wait until you see the inside," he said.

Just as he said, the inside of the mansion was even more glorious than the outside. The walls were a creamy yellow color, the rooms were huge, and it was pretty clean considering that about a dozen killers lived here.

"This place is amazing!" I said excitedly.

"I'm glad you think so," a staticky voice rang through my mind.

I jumped slightly, then glanced around, trying to find the source of the voice.

"Behind you, child," the voice said.

I glanced over my shoulder, the faceless man was standing right behind me. "Oh!" I yelped in surprise, jumping back slightly. I quickly straightened up, trying not to seem a bit frightened.

"Um... G-Good evening, sir." I greeted him awkwardly.

"Good evening, Miss Splatter," he replied. "I've heard that you wish to join us, is this correct?"

I nodded. "Yes, sir," I said.

By now, everyone's attention was on us.  Even some of the others who hadn't been with us had gathered to watch.

"I saw you lead the police away from Neon and the others," he said. "And I'm also aware that you had been observing us undetected for quite some time. I must admit that I am impressed."

I felt my pride swell a bit at that, and I smiled. "Thank you, sir," I thanked him.

His cheeks rose slightly. If he had a mouth, he would probably be smiling. "I believe that you would indeed be a valuable addition to the team," he said. "I can tell from your thought process that you aren't the killing type, but that doesn't matter. You could always scare people. What do you say?"

I felt my heart skip a beat with excitement. "It would be an honor to join you," I said politely.
