VIOLET'S POV
I gradually poured the hot water from the kettle into the two blue mugs filled with chocolate powder. Reaching to my right, I grabbed the teaspoon and started to gradually stir the mixture. The steam and the scent of the hot chocolate filled the room with the holiday spirit.
It was only a few days before Christmas. The thought of it made me realize that this is the first Christmas I would not be spending back at home. As I was stirring the hot chocolate, I debating on picking up the bright yellow telephone that was hanging on the wall infront of me and call my parents. But I am still scared of what they are going to say, especially after everything that I have done that led me here. I sighed as I stopped stirring and placed the teaspoon in the sink. I keep telling myself that I would face them in a latter period of time; I keep avoiding the truth that one day that will happen. I just, keep distracting myself from thinking of that day.
After pulling my sweater a little longer until it reached my palms, I carefully grabbed the two mugs and cautiously made my way to the kitchen counter where my company is waiting for his cuppa chocolate.
"Here ya go, kiddo." I said as I placed down the mug infront of him. "Be careful, it's still a bit too hot." I warned him.
His face lightened up as he nodded and murmured a quick 'thank you'. He dipped his head down and started to lightly blow the steam away. I didn't even notice that I was doing the exact same thing at this moment.
He then took a quick sip from his mug. "Mhhhm yummy. I like it with a bit of those orange powder thingy that makes it more yummy."
"You mean cinammon?" I asked a bit surprised. I like to put a bit of cinammon as well.
He nodded again as he licked his upper lip which had a chocolate mustache now. I giggled as he had a hard time reaching out his tongue to wipe it off. I leaned forward and started to rub my thumb over his upper lip to help him remove it. He did a childish giggle in the process.
When his upper lip was mostly stain free I got up from my stool. "I'll see if the boys have some cinammon, yeah?"
I took a few steps until I reached the area where the cupboards are. I started to open them one by one. Finally, in the last cupboard I saw a tray of spices on the third shelf. I tiptoed and extended my arm as high as I could but my fingers barely touched the tray.
"Ugh, why do I have to be so small." I grunted to myself as I was still trying my best to reach it.
Suddenly as I felt my fingers finally touching the side of the tray, a large hand beat me to it. Startled, my first instinct was to step back. But I ended up hitting a body that was cleary bigger than mine.
He let out a snicker before saying, "So that you need my help, you little elf."
I huffed, "I'm not an elf." To which he just replied with a deep chuckle.
Harry handed me the tray and I accidentally placed my hands over his while receiving it. I bit my lip as I felt our skin make contact for a few seconds. "Erm, thanks."
We both made our way back to Oliver. Harry ruffled Oli's hair and started a tickle war with him as I glanced every now and then while adding some cinammon to our hot drinks.
"Here you go, Oli." I said as I pushed his mug towards him.
The stool beside me started to made a dragging noise as Harry adjusted himself closer to me. He crossed his arms on the counter and I felt his thumb rubbing small circles on the sleeves of my jumper. It was, above all, comforting. I glanced at him and gave him a soft smile, and he did the same. He amusingly looked back at Oli who chugged down the drink in one take.
