“I WAS OUT ON THE TOWN!”

Jack snickered. That wasn’t surprising, I’ve come to notice that Jack laughed at everything.

“SO I CAME TO YOUR WINDOW LAST NIGHT!” He screamed with me.

Andrew looked a little hestitant, but soon he gave in to my awesomeness.

“I TRIED NOT TO THROW STONE, BUT I WANTED TO COME INSIDE!”

And now last (but definetly not least, heheh, if you know what I mean) Nate.

“NOW I’M CAUSING A SCENE, THINKING YOU NEED A REASON TO SMILE! OH NO, WHAT HAVE I DONE? THERE’S NO ONE TO KEEP ME WARM!”

He slung an arm around me.

“Now I have someone to keep me warm,” he whispered in my ear.

Well.

It seemed he was feeling a little frisky.

I giggled and blushed, hopefully alluringly.

Jack raised an eyebrow at us. I avoided his gaze.

“So…” I began as we walked towards his car (had they given my mom and dad a ride? How embarassing). “Where is this restaurant?”

“Upper East Side.”

Once again, ignore what I said. I’m a fun.atic, okay? My brain was addled.

“Are cigarettes raining hard?”

Inside, I winced. Outside, I remained confident. Maybe I should become an actress someday!

Andrew chuckled. His chuckle was deep and manly.

Jack sniggered. His snigger (damn, where do they get all these names for laughs? Just wondering…) was sort of high pitched and carefree.

Nate laughed. His laugh was pretty much perfection.

“Good one,” Jack grinned. I nodded.

“Is the food good?” I asked.

“I can’t think-“

“Straight with nothing to prove?”

Brain! Stahp!

Hi. My name is Scarlett Collinger and I have a freakish liking for terrible puns.

…or should I say ‘funs’?

Heheh.

Oh my god, I really need to get a life.

Nate rolled his eyes but laughed again. I decided to make it my life’s mission to get Nate to laugh. His laugh was just…. Wow.

“I know you know that song well,” he began. I wasn’t sure I liked where this was going. “Because you had seven tabs open, all of which were, ‘All The Pretty Girls: Official Music Video’ and lyrics, and images and lyrics videos-“

“Okay, I get it!”

Well screw you Nate.

“Creeper,” I muttered.

“And wasn’t your background Nate from the video?” Jack asked innocently.

He had a devilish glint in his eye. Okay, so not so innocently.

I blushed and buried my head in Nate’s shoulder (we were in  the car now).

He wrapped an arm around me and pulled my closer.

So while they were chatting about stuff, I let my mind wander into the dangerous abyss of self doubt.

Does he like me?
