AUTHOR NOTE- Hey there. I hope you enjoy this chapter. I know it is short and in the future I might blend some chapters together but at least there is an update right? Two chapters in two days is good, well at least I think so. I'm not promising however that updates will be this frequent in the future. Anyway much love and ENJOY!!
I sat twiddling my bracelet with my fingers waiting for the lesson to begin. Our biology teacher was late, as usual and I was sat at a desk alone and didn't see the point of striking up a conversation with anybody. Not only that but outside my little weird friendship group nobody really talked much to me, I mean they would say hi but we would never go into details and have a full blown conversation. I think that may be because I come across a tad bitchy sometimes, I don't mean it but I have trust issues and I know people think I'm more than slightly crazy.
I am like two totally different people, with my friends I am open, carefree and loud but on my own I'm still quite confident but unless I'm really spoken to I won't start up a conversation. Odd I know.
So when I saw the all too familiar black haired boy that kept cropping up today I just dismissed the matter, but then he decided to sit down in the empty seat next to me. We sat in silence for probably 30 seconds and I could feel him glancing towards me. I guess he expected me to be loud and crass like he had witnessed about 10 minutes ago with my friends but I remained silent. I was still absent mindedly playing with my bracelet when I heard the deep voice for the first time, it actually surprised me at how deep the voice was.
"What's that on your hand?" A smooth deep American accent belonging to the black haired boy next to me asked. I looked up at him and then down at my hand.
"It's Mehndi or Henna as it's widely known," I replied whilst observing the pretty patterns still painted on my hands.
"Oh," came the reply and we plunged back into silence, which I was totally fine by me but he obviously wasn't happy out it.
"I'm Theodore by the way," I glanced up at him once more and got captivated by his piercing green eyes that had swirls of a midnight blue, a colour that I have never seen before. Stop it Arabella!
"But call me Theo," He smiled.
"I know your name," I said flatly looking ahead. I had heard it enough the past few hours. I sighed deeply and responded to his greeting anyway.
"Hey Chipmunk," I glanced his way. "I'm Arabella, but people call me Airy, because I'm a bit of an air head, or so they say. You however can not call me that name," I warned deadly serious. I felt however that he wasn't threatened by me as he chuckled lightly. I just narrowed my eyes at him. He stopped chuckling however and paused rather quickly.
"Why do you call me Chipmunk?" He frowned, eyebrows knitting together and wrinkles appearing on his face.
"Cause your named after a chipmunk, you know the movie?" I said in a flat tone as if it was obvious.
"I would like to inform you I was born before they were created," He refuted proudly.
"I'll have you know they were created in like the 50's" I smugly informed him. He frowned not prepared for my comeback.
"You sure?" He clearly didn't believe me and before I could argue back the teacher turned up, a grand total of 13 minutes late.
About two minutes into the lesson I heard a "Well I never," and I got a nudge in the arm.
"You weren't bullshitting were you," he whispered extremely close to my ear, his hot breath tickling the side of my ear. I didn't reply but turned my head towards him and gave him an "I told you so" look before focusing back on the lesson.
I kept looking towards the front the whole lesson trying my best not to fall asleep and I was literally counting down the seconds left of the lesson so I could then go home. That was a plus point of a Monday I only had one afternoon lesson and I got to leave at 2.30.
"Hey Bella," the thick voice from next to me whispered. I frowned slightly annoyed he had broken my day dream and called me Bella.
"What," I mouthed. This boy was adamant at talking to me and clearly did not get the message that I don't generally talk to people at this pretentious school unless they are Lily, Charlie or Ollie.
"Do you think she would notice if I decided to sneaked out," he mused quietly but not quietly enough as the teacher shouted at him to shut up and then sent me a glare before turning back to the board. I didn't have the best relationship with the teacher and she obviously thought I was the one causing his behaviour.
"God, somebody is pre-menstrual," He commented and then his eyes widened as he realised he had said that rather loudly. Could the boy not whisper? This time the she turned around, her eyes blazing.
"Out! NOW! Detention on your first day Theodore I'm disappointed and Arabella you too!" She pointed to him then to me. I had had nothing to do with any of what had happened yet just because I've back chatted to her in the past she automatically highlights me as the troublemaker. I was not only pissed at the teacher but also at Theodore for landing me in the position.
"But miss.." I tried to defend myself but then I stopped and bit my tongue when she sent me a death glare. I've learnt that I can back chat to Mr Whitehall but not my actual teachers, especially pregnant ones.
"No buts," she put her hand on her hip. "Detention from now until the end of the school day."
"What!" I slacked my jaw. "I've done nothing, I'm finished after this lesson for the day miss," I practically pleaded, for I actually really had to get home and on time.
"Should of thought of that before," She spoke with no remorse.
I just grabbed my bag and stormed out the room, I couldn't really fight the women, she was pregnant after all. I'm guessing that was why she was so bitchy lately and you can't really go around hitting or screaming at a pregnant women, or any women who might look fatter than normal, people don't tend to take too kindly to that sort of behaviour. I didn't bother glancing at Theo, he had caused all of this and once I got to the detention room I just slumped down into my chair and my internal freak out started.
