An unexpected love

Phone calls

Jen had been thinking a lot about Matty lately, about what he said and how he acted. She decided to just call and ask.

*on the phone*

*Matty*
"Hello?"

*jen*
"Hey Matty, its Jen."

*Matty*
"Oh hey! I've been meaning to call you! How was your Christmas?"

*Jen*
"It was really good, yeah. Um, I really called for something else. Can I ask you something?"

*Matty*
"Um, ok, yeah sure."

*Jen*
"Well at Courts party a couple of weeks back........"

*Matty*
"Oh god. I know what your gonna ask. I'm really sorry about that. Its just that around the holidays, I get kinda sad, and, well, lonely. I'm real sorry."

*Jen*
"Yeah, ok. Ok, um thats good to hear." But it wasn't good to hear. Jen was sort of lonely too, and kind of wished that Matty actually did want something to happen.

*Matty*
"You dont sound like thats good to hear?"

*Jen*
"Oh no, thats good news! Ok, no its not. The truth is, I've been lonely too. I mean your one of the greatest friends I've ever had, and I never would of thought of you to hook up with or anything, but when I saw you at the party, I changed my mind. Your a really great guy, and any girl would be lucky to have you."

*Matty*
"Well any guy would be lucky to have you!"

*Jen*
"Do you want to come over? Maybe for a glass of wine?"

*Matty*
"Sure! I'm free Thursday night? Is that ok?"

*Jen*
"Ya! That sounds good! Just come on over, anytime!"
