An unexpected love

Courteneys birthday

(June 13th, 2015)

Courteney invited the 6 'friends' over to celebrate her birthday in 2 days. She also asked if each 'friend' would bring a date. Matty and Jen had been dating a long time now, and they were officially a couple. They still hadn't gotten around to telling Court and Lisa. They wondered if they should bring a different date, but they thought that would be going a little too far. So they decided they were ready.

When they arrived, they got out of the car and walked up to the front door of Courteneys house. Jen realized she had left her coat in the car, Matthew reminded her to bring one this time. So Jen went back to get it, and matty rang the doorbell. Lisa answered, since she had just walked in herself and was still standing in the entry way.

*Lisa*
"Hey Matty! Aww, didnt bring anyone?"

*Matty*
"Oh i brought someone, shes just getting her coat out of the car." He turned around when he heard Jen walking up the steps. "There she is!"

Lisa looked very shocked, and a little bit confused.

*Lisa*
"You? And, and you? Wow! This is great!"

Courteney was in the kitchen, opening the bottles of wine.

*court*
"Whose here?" She shouted from the kitchen.

*Lisa*
"Its Matthew!"

*court*
"Oh good! Hey Matty! Glad you came! Who did ya bring?" She was still shouting from the kitchen.

*Lisa*
"Well, its someone you know. Someone we all know."

Then Courteney walked out to see for herself.

*court*
"Did she have to use the restroom already?" Courteney wouldn't have even thought that Matthew brought Jen. "And jen! Who did you bring?" She still didnt realize they came together.

Just then, Matthew put his arm around Jen, and kissed the top of her head.

*Matty*
"I came with Jen."

Courteney looked very surprised. On the inside, she was a tiny bit jealous. She had always imagined matty and herself ending up together. She never had big feelings for him, she just thought of him as her back up. But she was with Johnny, so she really shouldn't be jealous.

*Court*
"Wow! I'm so happy for you guys! I have to say, I never would of imagined you two hooking up!"

Matty looked deep into Jens eyes. "We never would of imagined it either. But we did!"

Courteney welcomed everyone in, and they all sat down on her back patio, and waited for david (s.) to arrive.

Courteney had coco this week, since David (a.) was out of town, so Matt brought his daughter, marina, over so her and coco could play, and coco wouldn't be bothering them all night. When david arrived, coco answered the door, because the 'friends' were outside, and couldn't hear the door. Then Marina, David, and David's wife all followed Coco while she led them to the rest of the group.

*coco*
"Mommy, when's dinner?"

*Court*
"Pretty soon honey."

Coco and Marina ran back upstairs to Cocos room. David gave all the girls hugs, and all the guys a hand shake, and a bro hug, and sat down.

*lisa*
"Look" she was telling david, and pointing towards Jen and Matty. "There a couple now!"

*david*
"Ya! I already knew!"

*court and lisa in unison*
"What?!?!" They were upset they were the last to know.

*jen*
"Ya, what?" She didnt know matty had told anybody.

*Matty*
"Im sorry babe, Matt and David dug it out of me back at your birthday party. I'm sorry, i ment to tell you."

*Court*
"Why are we just figuring this out then?"

*Matty*
"I'm sorry guys! We weren't gonna tell anybody, and then i just happened to tell the guys cuz there my best friends! You really should be mad at Jen for not telling you!"

Jen looked over at Matty and gave a 'thanks a lot' look.

They all argued a bit, until they were so hungry, they couldn't remember what they were mad about.

So, they went in for dinner. Court called Coco and Marina down to eat. Everybody sat next to who ever they came with. No body was mad at anybody anymore, they were just hungry.

After dinner, Coco and Marina ran back up stairs, and the adults continued to talk, and laugh. They drank a lot of wine, just like at Jens, and soon enough, all the girls were drunk.

At the end of the night, Court started to throw away the wine bottles, and clean up a little, and Jen and Lisa helped. Matt and Johnny walked upstairs to get the girls. Coco and marina had both fallen asleep on the couch in Cocos room. Johnny picked Coco up, and put her into bed. Matt picked Marina up, and put her in his car. Then he came back inside to say his goodbyes. They wouldn't have another party until the end of July, to celebrate Matt and Lisa's birthdays.

All the guys shook each other's hands, and went to get their dates, who were still all helping Court clean.

*Court*
"You guys! Stop helping me! Really, stop. I can do it! You guys get home! Its already really late."

So the girls stopped, and said goodbye. They all said one last happy birthday to Court, and left.

Matty had driven Jen, so they decided she should just come back to his place.

Neither of them had said 'I love you' yet, ever, even though they both felt it.

It was a quite ride, since it was really late. Jen was almost asleep.

*Matty*
"I love you." This was the first thing either of them had said the whole ride.

*Jen*
"What? Honey? Really?"

*Matty*
"Does that mean you dont love me?"

She didnt say anything for minute. "No. No. Of course not. That isn't what that means. I love you too."

They both leaned in, and kissed each other. Then she fell asleep on his shoulder, while he drove home.

When they got to Mattys house, he picked her up, and placed her on his bed, then pulled the comforter over her. She was still sound asleep.

Matty got ready for bed, then layed down next to her. He watched her sleep, watched her breath in and out, for hours. He loved her. And the best part about loving her was that she loved him back. Matty kept saying it in his head. *she loves me back. She loves me back. She loves m........* but then he fell sleep.
