The gems of power

Chapter 6: Sinister sister

       The gems and I stared in amazement and horror of my sister standing in the doorway of the Gem room. "This place is cool, hey Astrid what are you doing here, and why are you all wearing the same gem necklaces, also who are all of you" she asked.

"Um-um-um I am Andrea, this is Windy, Eve, Luna, and Sunny and you are" Andrea asked my sister. "This is my sinister sister Sarah and she should be leaving now and not coming back, so say good bye Sarah and lets go" I said as I tried to push her out the door and up the stairs."Astrid don't be rude my new friends are telling me all about themselves, and sinister really" Sarah said.

"Now where were we"? "We were telling you about this place and why we are here" Andrea said scared. "Oh yes why are you down here" my sister asked with a smug smile. "Well this is where we work and help everyone on earth, we are the Gems " Luna said not knowing what to do next. "Help everyone on earth, how do you do that, and what do you mean you are the Gems" my sister asked still having a smug smile on her face.

"Well we help everyone on earth with these gems they let us control the things that make up earth" Windy said scared like the rest of the Gems. "Really those gems you wear, they do all that, wow that's really cool" Sarah still happy said. "Ya they are, you see we all have a different power. "Windy controls weather, Eve controls the elements, Sunny controls the sun, Luna controls the moon, and I control the animal kingdom". "Cool, and what does my sister control, I mean she is wearing one of those gems, what does Astrid control"?

"What does Astrid control, well ah she controls"..... "I don't control anything yet Sarah, I haven't  been able to control anything yet" I said hopefully she believed my lies. "Oh nothing that's a shame, well I heard enough" Sarah said. "Really you've heard enough, so are you going to leave, and not tell anyone about us" Eve said hopefully.

"Yes on one condition, if I get your gem" my sister said pointing at Andrea. "My gem, you want my gem, but we have a few blank gems don't you want one of those"? "No I want your gem and I want it now or, else I will run up and tell everyone about you and this place".

"Fine I will give you my gem", "NO Andrea you can't you will lose your power" Sunny shouted. "I have to, I did the oath to protect the gems and the earth no matter what" Andrea said sadly taking off her gem. Andrea took off her gem and handed it to Sarah slowly and sadly. "Thank you very much for this" Sarah said putting on Andrea's gem.

At first when Sarah put on the gem nothing happened, but in a second there was a flash of light, Sarah stood tall and Andrea fell to the hard floor. "Oh I feel so powerful and strong unlike you" Sarah said pointing to Andrea. I ran over to Andrea's aid, so did the other gems to see if she was ok.

"Are you ok Andrea"I asked scared she was hurt or even dead. "I am fine just weak and powerless" Andrea said starting to sit up.

"Powerless how are you powerless, you guys told me when you get you gem taken away you don't loose your power". "We don't want to worry you Astrid for if you were to loose your gem" windy said nicely. "I'm not really worried about that now, my sister has your gem Andrea, do you know what she will do with that power"? "You might be right Astrid, your sister could do terrible things with that power" said Eve scared. "Astrid you're our only hope, use that power we taught you and get out of here NOW" Andrea shouted.

I knew what they were talking about, so I touched my gem and turned into my fox form, and started to run for and up the stairs. I heard my sister yell something, because she was shocked I could do that. I didn't know what she was going to do, but when I turned my head I seen my sister starting to run after me.

After a while of chasing after me, Sarah touched her gem ( really Andrea's gem) and I seen her turn into an eagle. When she did that I started to run even faster hopeful that she wouldn't get me. Then the most scary thing happened she shouted, " I'm coming to get you Astrid"!
