Sleep and Forget

Sleep when the darkness comes, don't let it see your tears.

For if you ever shut your eyes, the pain will last for years.

As you hear your children cry, it will soon be clear.

That while you lived your lies, I have lived your fears.

Sleep now and don't wake up, you'll be silent either way.

But if you lie awake all night, you'd be asleep all day.

I wouldn't care if you were here, nothing would be okay.

But since now you are out of sight, I bend my head and pray.

Sleep soft and promise me, I will soon see why.

Why you laid in your sweet bed, and listened to us cry.

You must've been a fool for him, to hear him shout and lie.

Or maybe i was the real fool, as I watched you die.

Goodnight at last and get some rest, for your dreary head.

I will forgive you once it ends, so lie in your bed.

If you've nightmares about me, know what I've been fed.

So close your eyes for the last time.

    Lets end your sweet dread...
