Left For Dead

On the Run

Jordan's POV
I wake up to banging on the door of the house that me and  Caleb slept in. My first instincts are to grab my gun and look for Caleb. I find him sound asleep next to me and creep cautiously to the door and see that it's a little girl around 6 years old.
"HELP! PLEASE! MY MOM NEEDS HELP!" I dash for the door and quickly open it to find the little girl running inside. I close the door and crouch down to her height.
"What's going on sweetie. Who needs help?" The girl whimpers but still tries to answer me between sobs.
"My mommy. We were out there and then a monster came out she told me to run to a nearby house so I did....then a monster chased me. I don't know where she is" she breaks into tears and I wake up Caleb.
"Caleb wake up. There's a little girl here I need you to take care of her while I go check something out. Okay?"
With a groan Caleb gets up and is awake.
"Uh..... Okay"
Grabbing my knife and gun I head outside and see a huge group of walkers limping towards the house. Shit! When I walk Caleb has a terrified expression on his face.
What's wrong?
She's ummm...infected.
What? How?
Her shoulder she has a scratch.
We have to leave a group of walkers is heading this way. We're taking her.
What? She's infected
We're not fucking monsters we're not gonna leave her here to die.
Fine, let's pack up then
We grab our bags and weapons when walkers begin to bang on the front door. I start to look for the little girl but can't seem to find her.
Where is she?
I thought she was with you
"Where are we going?" I turn to find the little girl eating jello. She still doesn't get this world.
We have to go there are monsters in the front door.
"Ok but where is my mommy?"
She's gone
"I want to go with her"
No not yet. Come on we have to hurry
We hear glass shatter and run towards the back door. Once the door is open Caleb carries the girl and we sprint towards the woods. After running for about 20 minutes we stop and catch our breath.
Did...a monster....scratch or bite you sweetie? I huff out since I'm out of breathe.
"No I scratched my arm with a branch running away from a monster."
They're called walkers
See Caleb she isn't infected now we have to keep walking
And where? The group left us for dead. Fuck they could've waited for us.
Calm down we're gonna be okay.
He sighs.
I'm sorry I just can't believe that this is how we have to live.
We have to keep going. 
So...where to?
The sun is setting so... I'm guessing we have to keep running until we find where to stay. Let's go straight.
We began to jog straight until we came upon some kind of camp called "Woodbury."
Hello?!
"Who's there said" a blonde woman said.
My name is Jordan and I'm here with my brother Caleb and a little girl! We mean no harm!
The woman hops off the wall or some kind of protective gate to where we are.
"How did you get here?" said the woman.
We ran into it. Can we stay a night or two? We won't bother anyone. Please we have a kid.
"You can come in but I'll have to escort you to the Governor."
Okay.
She opens the doors and motions us to go in. She has beautiful blonde hair and green eyes. A woman with some type of samurai sword comes next to her and she whispers something that maybe important because the blonde woman turns to her and argues a bit. She then turns her attention to us.
"Come on you have to talk to the Governor."
*After talking to the Governor*
He gave an exhausting speech about not wanting trouble but something seemed off with this guy. He had some kind of bad vibe. I warned Caleb about it and he said the same. Later on we figured that the girl's name was Faith. She had a beautiful name. That night I didn't sleep one bit only for like an hour or even less but that's all. I planned on moving out the next day. Something's not right around here. It's like they have the people controlled. It's just freaky.
