The heavy metal door opens again, and a strange man is in the doorway. He motions for me to come with him. As we walk down the hall again, he stops outside the door to the room I was waiting in with my mom.
"Hello Itsa, my name is John Fraunk. I am the brother of Esther Fraunk. Do you know who she is?" Says the man.
"Um, no sir I don't. But the name sounds familiar," I tell him.
"She is the founder of 'Esther's School for Morphed Kids' on the island of Evermorph in the Bermuda Triangle,"
He says mysteriously."So, Mr. Fraunk, what are you trying to say?" I question.
"Itsa, when you were a baby, you had a strange disease forming in your body. As you grew older, the disease grew more potent and visible in your body. The scan we just preformed on you checked the disease's complete control over your body. It turns out, the disease has reached 100% control. And..."
"Wait, so I'm going to DIE?!" I exclaim.
"No, you won't die, but you will grow, how do I say this, you might grow animalistic body parts. Or even mythical body parts," He replied, "you will have to be sent to that island or the disease will spread to others through physical contact, and for people who haven't been transforming with the disease, it will certainly be fatal to them,"
"So, I won't be able to see my mom anymore?" I whimper.
"If you see her, it could lead to fatal conditions for her. So, you cannot. And there is no cell service on the island except for the residents to contact one another. I wouldn't tell your mother this, and you shouldn't either. We will memory-wipe her of you after you reach the island. You have a week to pack up, and we will come and receive you on the 20th." His voice is wavering, and I know it was hard for him to tell me this.
"Okay sir, I will start to pack up when I get home."
I turn around and a tear slides down my cheek.
