Nanosounds was used to crushes that were going nowhere, travelling so much made it inevitable. What she wasn't used to was crushes being ruined by something other than traveling, and that's exactly what had happened with her crush on Lomadia. She was just so... Wonderful. A tough exterior covering up softness (and more toughness, it would be a lie to call her anything but strong, emotionally and physically) and so many interests Nano wouldnt have guessed from Lom's initial mannerisms.

They were great friends, knowing so much about each other and sharing so many interests. They both loved horror movies and games (and subjecting Honeydew to them), they both loved the idea of witchcraft and all that came with it, and so much else Nano couldn't list off of the top of her head. The more time she spent with Lomadia the more her crush, which had started as the tiniest sprout of admiration, grew, and it was getting overwhelming. That first bit of admiration had been planted even before they were officially introduced, Nano had been being bullied and Lomadia had got rid of them, and showed her how to find the nurse, refusing to leave until Nano had been looked after, and that was the true start of her crush on the person that at the time she only thought of as her saviour. Even Lalna had noticed she was distracted, and he was usually oblivious to almost everything. How long would it be until Lomadia noticed? The story Xephos had told had her even more anxious about accidentally slipping up in front of Lomadia, or anyone, god knows Lalna wouldnt be able to keep his mouth shut and then the friendship she had been clinging to would be gone, ruined by her inability to stay unattached.

Speaking of Xephos, that was the main reason Nano's crush was so hopeless. They were dating Lomadia. Even if they weren't particularly affectionate in front of anyone but Xephos's parents they were still dating, and that fact weighed down on her heavily, causing painful shoots of guilt whenever she caught herself staring, which was often recently. She was as cheerfully as possible around Xephos when even being near them made her struggle to contain her envy, she was trying so hard to repress her stupid crush but it wouldnt work, and it was ruining everything.

Nani's phone vibrated obnoxiously and she sighed, god couldn't her friends tell she was being unnecessarily angsty? It was Lalna, of course it was, who else would message her in the middle of the night.

Massive dweeb (Lalna):
Nano do you think pigeons have feelings.

Nanosounds:
lalna how many times do we have to go over this dont message me strange questions in the middle of the night

Massive dweeb (Lalna):
Technically it's morning.

Nanosounds:
What?

Nano quickly checked the time. 4am. Fucking hell, she was going to be exhausted tomorrow.
