Nanosounds: Mostly Confused

The first thing Lalna said to Nano in maths was a whispered apology, and she found herself struggling not to laugh at how serious he took being quite whilst the rest of the class were practically screaming.
"Its alright, I got to sit with Lom and Honeydew instead of spending the entirety of lunch with my brain melting out of my ear holes, honestly I feel like you should do whatever you were doing with Nilesy more often, it's a win win situation for me." Nano replied with a strange amount of serenity for her.
"Any... Particular reason you like spending time with them?" Lalna asked cautiously, and Nano snorted, despite the fact that she could feel that she had gone red.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She choked out, far too aware of how hot her face was. Honestly, Lalna had the subtlety of a brick to the face, he might as well of just asked if she was dating one of them.
"Oh, nothing! Ive realised I don't even know anything about your... Preference. Is that weird?" Lalna stumbled awkwardly, no longer bothering to whisper
"So you thought you'd ask by implying I was dating my friends, one of which is taken? Lalna, truly, you are a master of social grace." Nano laughed "I'm bi, if that's what you wanted to know." She continued, still clearly amused at her friends bumbling ways.

Aside from learning her sexuality, Lalna had realised something else important, Nano was the only one in their little friend group who didn't know Lomadia and Xephos weren't actually dating, mainly because Xeph wasn't into women, and that they were dating Honeydew. With the amount Nano talked to Lomadia and Honeydew, it must have been purposefully kept quiet, weird, almost everyone knew that Lom was essentially Xephos' beard and had been for years, just so they could stay closeted. But Lalna wouldn't say anything, he respected his friends choices, no matter how much he wanted to tell Nano.
"I didn't mean it like that, honest! I didn't mean to imply anything" he stumbled, but he knew he did, and Nano clearly did too.
"If you say so" she laughed, in a strangely good mood today, she didn't even know why herself, so there was no way Lalna was figuring it out.
