The Party

It was Christmas day, well, night to be more specific, around 7pm. Everyone was at Honeydews for his annual Christmas party, Lalna and Nilesy had agreed to watch Nano in shifts, which hadn't turned out well. Honeydews parents were out at a party with his relatives, and had left them with full control of the house and far more alcohol than any teenagers should be given access to. Xephos was on their sixth bottle of gin, and Lalna was completely shitfaced on anything he could find, Honeydew was pretty hammered as well, in fact the majority of them were. They had set up a karaoke machine and were singing drunken power ballads loudly enough to get complaints the next morning and just generally fucking around.

Lalna was on the verge of passing out when he finally got to enjoy the consequences of the mistletoe he had scattered around the house. Nano and Lomadia were the only two who were (almost in Lomadias case) sober, and they were enjoying laughing at their friends drunken antics as they entered the karaoke room, giggling to each other about Xephos passed out downstairs on the kitchen table. When Lalna saw them in the doorway he remembered two things in succession, one that there was mistletoe there, and two that Lomadia was a suspect, so he announced loudly the presence of the mistletoe, excitedly bouncing on the balls of his feet.

Nano went bright red and stuttered, trying to string a sentence together as the entire room looked in their direction. Lomadia looked ridiculously calm about their situation, hands in her pockets and a relaxed grin, "how are you so calm!" Nano grumbled under her breath, and Lomadia simply laughed in response.
"Go on give us a show!" Smith slurred, resting his glass on the side and grinning widely at them, his face flushed not from cold or embarrassment.
"Fuck off Smiffy!" Nano huffed, going to storm into the room, possibly with the intent to punch him, but Lom simply laid her hand on Nano's arm, and smiled, and Nano found herself rooted to the spot with nerves. She was bright red and fidgeting from foot to foot, trying to ignore the laughs from the room. Lomadia sighed gently, filled with fond exasperation, and lent in. Nano wasn't sure how it happened but she found herself meeting the kiss, it was an intense moment and if her internal monologue had been outloud people would have probably been concerned about how much she was screaming. It must have only lasted seconds but it felt like hours, and the part of her ignoring that Lomadia was dating Xephos wished it had been hours, but just as soon as it started it was over and she was back in the room surrounded by the sounds of cheering and wolf whistles (mostly from the hat boys). She buried her blushing face in her hands, and Lom laughed fondly, leading her away from the doorway with a gentle hand on her arm.
"That's enough you lot!" Lomadia yelled, and it quieted down as if nothing had even happened, and Nano wished she could forget it as easily.

Nano didn't move her face from her hands until she was sat down, she was next to Lalna, who was observing her instead of the karaoke and she could tell, she would have pointed it out if it wasn't for what had just happened. Lomadia sat next to them, looping her arm around Nanos shoulders and pulling her into her side,
"Its not that bad doll, they'll have all forgot about it tomorrow. The majority of them are too drunk to remember their names." Lom said, grinning. Normally Nano would have questioned any strange terms of endearment, but Lomadia used them liberally and after that it was just another thing making her head spin and her heart threaten to beat out of her chest.
"Yeah, I guess." She replied managing a nervous smile. Lalna was looking at her knowingly and she practically snarled, "What are you looking at!" and punched him in the arm, but the strike lacked force or any intent to hurt him and he knew it, but he complained anyway, dutifully protesting and filling his role.
