Evan gasped as he awoke with a shock, sweating due to the intense heat. At first, he was too stunned to move, but when Gavin popped into his head, he scrambled around to find him. "Gavin? GAVIN?" He yelled, fear at the edges of his voice. Upon receiving no response, he allowed his fear to shine through, which only made him move faster. "GAVIN! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

He came to a dead stop at the sight of Gavin lying in an awkward position upon the ground, seemingly unconscious. Snapping into action, he raced over, stumbling over himself in his attempt to get there faster.

Once he reached him, he instantaneously checked his vitals.

'N-noth-nothing...'

Evan felt his heart stop. The world was sent into a tailspin as his vision blurred.

He fell back onto his heels, shock settling in. 'All your fault all your fault all your fault all your fault all your fault.'

"G-Gavin... God..." His voice shuddered. All he wanted to do was faint, but he fought off the urge as he carefully picked Gavin up and held him in his arms.

Such was the fate of his resolve as he broke down and began to wail from the deepest parts of his soul and heart, which had lurched, and then was obliterated completely. "I'm so sorry... I'M SO FUCKING SORRY!!" He cried into the smaller teens hair, not hearing the fire raging around him. The heat had long since been forgotten, and was replaced with an uncontrollable shaking of his entire body.

But then he felt the presence of someone behind him, and slowly turned as he stood, carrying Gavin's body.

Before him was Gavin, except surrounded by an immense ball of fire that seemed to be eminating from his person. Not only that, but his eyes were glowing.

Evan slowly set the body down, walking toward the embodiement of Gavin's soul. As he drew closer, all it did was stare. "Gavin?" He called softly, reaching out. The spirit did so, as well, and they clasped hands.

Once they did, Evan felt a huge weight fall off of his body, and a bright light came bursting through his mind, and everything became clear. Smiling, the duo spread, hand-in-hand, across the forest-surrounded city they had come to.

Reality is false

We all live our own version

It is not madness

Just sadness

For it is into darkness we walk."
