Jacks POV
Me and Ella awoke to sound of bells. I ran down stairs and started to make eggs, step mother came in,
"I thought breakfast was ready!"she shouted at me and the slapped me, her slaps hurt not juts the physically but mentally.
"I am sorry it will be in just a moment."I replied quickly, looking her in the eyes.
She slapped me in the other cheek
"Look down as you speak to me"she said
I nodded and went back to work with Ella's worried eyes on me. I served them breakfast and went to another job, I am pretty sure all of the house workers are worried but I just push on. I jumped suddenly when Ella came running in with news
"There is a ball! All maidens are invited and invited and I was wondering if I could go?!"she asked
I couldn't quite hear the rest accept
'Ask for three dresses'
'For me and your two sisters' stepmother says
I paused and I guess they thought I was listening so she slapped me and said get back to work.
I ran to the stables and hoped on my horse and rode into the woods, when I stopped I heard Ella arrive behind me. I saw stag
"Hello there" I greeted
I then headed a horn, in hurry we shooed it. A few minutes after a man and another man came up to us and greeted us,
"Hello"said the one with the milk chocolate hair and crystals blue eyes
"What are you doing in this deep in the woods It's dangerous?"the one with auburn hair and hazel eyes said
"We can handle ourselves"Ella answered. As I was hiding my face
I guess they noticed because the one with hazel eyes came up to me, but the blue eyed one is my savior,
"Have you seen the stag?"he asks
"Yes, but you mustn't catch it"Ella said
"But it must be done" the one with brown hair and crystal blue eyes said
"Just because it has to be done doesn't mean it should be done"I said while still looking done and hiding my face.
"What do they call you?"they ask us at the same time
"It doesn't matter what they call us"Ella responded for me and her
"But what do they call you?" Ella asked
"Kit"the one with the brown hair says
"Scott" says the one with the auburn hair says
"We are brothers, and are learning our trait from our father in the palace" kit said
"Your h-"a man began to say
"KIT"
"SCOTT" They yelled
The man slightly smiled and said
"Okay Mr. Kit and Mr. Scott, but we must get going"he said
"I hope to see you at the ball!"they yelled while riding away
