Jack's POV

That was just a distant memory, I thought with a sigh.

"Is something wrong brother?" Ella asked

I forgot she was reading to our father
"Nothing sorry Ella"I replied with a smile

LATER ON

She walks in the door with her daughters and soon to be sisters.

Me and Ella run outside to greet them

"Welcome to our home!" We said
"You call this farm house a home?" They asked
We looked at them confused. They just walked in and stated to settle down. Our father had to go out on a trip to the market to get sell, and he asks us
"Would you like anything?"
"I would like the first branch that hits your shoulder(or head sorry can't quite remember)"Ella replied
"And I would like the first flower that lands in your hands"I replied

"Is that all?" He asks "I mean your other sisters wished for silk and other riches?(by the way he doesn't actually say this I just put it here)

Me and Ella shared the same look, the same understanding look as we looked at each other.
"Yes, because that means I will always have a part of you with me." Ella answered for us.

He nodded and walked out to his carriage, as our sisters yelled about what they wanted to him. Me and Ella just kept shouting out goodbyes and waving to him.

We walked back inside to see out step mother sitting down and our sisters running up and down yelling about how they have no room.

"What is troubling them?" Ella asks

"They do not have enough room"she replies

"Oh! Well they could have our room wright Ella? I mean we have the biggest room accept from yours and our fathers"I told her while Ella was nodding with me

"Yea and we coul-"Ella started to say but was cut off by our stepmother

"You could live in the attic! It's perfect"she exclaimed

LATER

Me and Ella walked up there with all our belongings and settled down, we helped prepare dinner and we sat and ate. As we ended there was a knock at the door, me and Ella both raced to get it we opened it up to see our dads driver with sorrow in him eyes.

"I am sorry sir and madam, but your father had fallen ill on his trip and passed, he only talked of you and his wife. How handsome and beautiful you were. He also told me to give you this" he sadly told us as he handed Ella a branch and me a light blush pink flower.

He nodded his hat and walk off as Ella shut the door, she looked up at me and I just ran up into our room and cried, and cried and cried. Then I thought while lightly holding the flower to my chest,
'He never said goodbye'
