Nothing. I open my eyes as I hear the slight tap of footsteps, but I see nothing. Am I blind? I slowly stretch my hand in front of me, searching for anything that can tell me where I am. My fingertips softly caress a cold metal object. I extend my other hand for it to only grasp another metal bar about half a foot apart from the original one.
I cautiously feel all around me, hearing the footsteps grow louder.
'Where the hell am I?' And it finally dawned on me, I'm trapped. But that didn't answer my question. Where am I?Hearing the footsteps stop, I sit quietly. Suddenly a light stings my eyes and I quickly turn away shielding my eyes, if I wasn't blind before, I am now.
A seemingly heavy door opens, and the footsteps grow heavier. I slowly turn back to the noise still shielding my eyes with my arm as I squint to make out who or what was in front of me.
Still wincing from the light, I crawl and grasp the bars, trying to glance up at the thing standing in front of this cage. The only thing I can make out are... Claws?
Then, as if lightning had stuck, the cage was kicked. Sending me flying backwards. I hit my head against the metal, although my weight did nothing to the cage. I on the other hand, felt a intense heat flow over the area I hit my head. I scramble up propping myself on my elbows as a deep voice growled.
"If you come near the bars again I'll rip you apart."
"Ari."
Another man walked through the door from what I could tell, his voice was softer. Soothing. He walked towards the cage and unlocked the hatch with a key card. He extended an arm to me, reluctantly I grabbed his hand. I slowly wobbled upright and scolded 'Ari'.He was tall, about two feet taller than myself, his jaw was sharp and rugged with thick black hair covering his head and side burns. With a long jagged scar from his right eyebrow to his lower right eye. His body was ripped and buldging with muscles that poked out of his black T-shirt.
(His appearance was taken from the manga version)
He noticed my harsh glance and growled. Despite the fact we were very different size wise. I wasn't afraid to keep scolding him as the other man led me out the door into the light.

He sat me down in a small room with a medium sized square table. He walked to the other side and sat across from me. He laid his folder in front of him and leaned forward.
"Do you know your name?"
My eyes widened, I dont remember. But, I don't even know where I am. I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat.
"No, where am I?"
He looked up at me and I got a good view of his face for the first time. He had a thick mustache, with large round lens glasses covering most of his face. With dark brow eyes gazing through the glare.
"Ah," he said. "So I assume you haven't seen the, well, wings"
I squinted my eyes at him and glanced around the room for whatever the hell he was talking about.
He chuckled, "No, you're looking in the wrong place."
I slowly realized what he meant and stood up, I walked toward a mirror that was behind me. I grasped the tie behind my neck that was holding part of my hospital gown on. As the stings slowly fell, I gasped.
One bundle of feathers came into view, I quickly tied the dress back and walked to the table, furious. Why was I here? Why can't I remember who I am? Why the fuck did I have wings?
"Who are you?" I asked as I slowly sunk back into my chair.
He sat up, adjusting his glasses as he looked up at me.
"My name is Jeb, Jeb Batchelder."
Authors note:
I'm not sure if I'll continue this, if a few people enjoyed this first chapter, then I will. I also know this is starting off slow, it will not be like this in the next chapter, I just wanted to refresh people on the characters, because if they read the book as soon as I did after it came out, they might need some recaps. This will mostly be in first person, I might switch it up a bit for different point of views like fangs or any other character.
